This video is a great resource for new and current collectors! I just wanted to add that Junie Moon is actually the official and premier retailer of Blythe dolls, not just a store that sells them. Blythe was originally owned by Kenner/Hasbro and the Japanese CEO, Junko Wong, pays licensing fees to produce them as Neo Blythe. The manufacturer is Takara Tomy, who will now be Good Smile Toys. However, I believe Junko Wong owns Junie Moon, and that is her company that also sells other goods too. She also owns CWC, which is a network of artists and designers, and they are in charge of all the design aspects of every release. Takara and the manufacturers have nothing to do with that, which is why you cannot buy a Blythe doll directly from them. The reason why the selection is small is because they only sell current releases. Other retailers, however, sell older releases for marked up prices.

Thank you so much for adding this additional information. I get confused sometimes when CCToys will have releases before JM. I knew they were all inter-related somehow. You explained it so well.
@burpieez66093 жыл бұрын
@@TammyPowley I totally understand what you mean, it was confusing for me as well. I believe CCtoys is another company based in China that Junko Wong authorizes to sell stock Blythe, just like HLJ and Magma Heritage. Mandarake is not an official retailer, but a large reseller corporation, but their products are authentic. They're kind of like Ebay, but are reputable and well known to collectors of all dolls. I personally prefer CCToys because they allow sellers to bypass lotteries through limited preorders. However, ordering directly from Junie Moon has its amenities. If there are legitimate issues with the doll, such as a broken eye mechanism or significant makeup damage, they will replace the doll. I am not sure if the other retailers offer the same service. However the shipping is CRAZY because of the pandemic. I had to use DHL to get Spring Hope and it was $100. Definitely pros and cons to each retailer, but yes, CCtoys is my favorite. I actually got Lady Panacea from them and she is currently in stock as we speak. I totally recommend her, the makeup is amazing in person and very detailed.

I think I was kind of surprised by how few Blythe dolls they actually had on Junie Moon when I first looked on there, particular when compared to CC Toys. There is a company here in Europe which is based in Spain who I would recommend, particularly for EU countries, called Doll.Moe. They don't have a large Blythe range but they do have a layaway setup and as they are in the EU it means that anyone ordering from another EU country don't have to worry about being stung with import tax like we tend to be when ordering from non-EU countries.

I just wanted to follow up in my previous comment and let you know that I had a fabulous experience with Magma Heritage. Like you, I’ve read mixed reviews (mostly older posts) but I thought they were awesome. My doll was not only well priced but she also arrived at my front door in less than a week. If you order a doll from cc-toys, do you get an orderconfirmation, other than your PayPal. And how long does it usually take before she ships and do you get a shipping notice?
@TammyPowley3 жыл бұрын
You can email them and ask for tracking, but honestly, it doesn't tell you much other than when it leaves Hong Kong. Typically, it takes anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks. In the "before times," it was more like 2 weeks, but some of the last few dolls I bought from them took longer. One of them was in US customs for weeks, and I only know that because I filed a claim with the post office.

Hi! Do you have to use a proxy to have Mandarake ship items to the US? If so, which proxy do you recommend?
@TammyPowley3 ай бұрын
You don't need a proxy. I'm planning on making a video soon about how to buy from them, but basically, you can purchase on your own. The site translates to English. Once you put something in your cart and purchase, they'll send you a note telling you that they have to go check if it's in the shop. Then a few days later, you'll get confirmation that they have it and also an invoice to pay. You have a certain amount of time to pay the invoice. If you don't, they might ban you from purchasing in the future, so you have to be ready to buy it.

Do you know of a good website that sells nude Blythe dolls? I like to make my own doll clothes
@TammyPowley Жыл бұрын
If you are looked for real Blythe without clothes, there are Facebook groups that sell pre-owned real Blythes. If you don't mind fake Blythe dolls, there are Etsy shops and Aliexpress. I used to sell them in my Etsy shop and might be listing some soon as well.
