It seems that the authors of this video forgot some of Vienna's most livable districts filled with young professionals, students and featuring great lifestyle with multiple restaurants, cafes and boutiques. Those are the so-called "inner" districts immediately surrounding the central first district, and they happen to be my favorite - 4, 6, 7, 8 and 9. They won't be cheap, but if you really want to enjoy what Vienna has to offer, they will probably suit you the best.

I lived in the 3rd, and it was at the border between the 3rd and City Park. Took me like 20 min to St. Stephen´s walking and Wien Mitte Station was 5 min away- using the CAT Train i needed 20min to be at the airport (5 min walk to the station and 16 min ride). I spent beautiful 12 years in Vienna.

Crime is increasing quickly, so are living costs. Health care is getting worse(crazy waiting times, appointments can take months), job opportunities worse, more foreigners who speak zero German and aren't even trying to assimilate into Austrian culture. Overall it's getting worse that's why I left, I see the overall trajetory of the cities as CLERALY downhill. It's still a good city to live in, but not as good as it used to be, it's a sinking ship and I probably won't move back. Btw I am a native Austrian but from Upper Austria
@markuskitzinger63743 ай бұрын
Crime rates are not really rising. This is just a feeling due to media. Costs are rising - as they are everywhere in the last years. But still cheap compared to others cities. Most of your comment is just racist bullshit. So I am not wondering that you are from Upper Austria. ;)

I would highly recommend living in Wahring (18th district) It is very lovely there. I lived there from 2018 - 2019. From Wahring you can easily reach thr 1st and 2nd district (central Vienna) via a quick ride on the Ubahn (train) taking approx 20 minutes. Alternatively if you go in the opposite direction you can visit stunningly beautiful Dobling (19th district) where you can take a stroll around the very lovely, enchanting Türkenschanzpark and go on to Grinzing in 15 - 20 minutes too 😊 by bus.

The WU is located in Leopoldstadt, the 2nd district. From my experience as a student, the closer to the city center, the more expensive the place is. On average places cost around 700 euro per month, some more and some less. You do not have to live in the same district as your uni, as the public transport is great in Vienna or you can bike aswell! It all depends on preference and how much income you have. It is best to not live too far from your uni though! Because it is in the 2nd, I would not recommend the 14th district but the 20th wouldn't be a bad choice. Hope this helps!

When you don't have children and are not a younger women, you can live in any district. Just be careful with the house. There can be residential houses and in a distance of 200 m rotten blocks. Look on the postboxes on the ground floor. If they are broken, avoid the house.

Why are most of districts in Vienna exactly on the same spot on map as Prague districts? Someone had probably homework to make a new system of districts, but he just copy pasted it from Vienna. 😀Do native people from Vienna really use this 22 district system? Native Praguers mostly use older post system with only 10 districts, so you can recognize non native Praguer by saying "Prague 20" and such things. 😀
@KhyatiPuria2 жыл бұрын
Most districts in Vienna are either split by the famous Ring, the Viennese belt (Wiener Gürtel) or major main streets. But I have seen similar structure also in Budapest - I’m pretty sure it’s not coincidence 😂 but in Vienna yes we do use all 23 districts and every single citizen is very proud of theirs ✌🏽😂
@emjaymillerКүн бұрын
In every district, the street signs start with the district number, followed by a period and then the name of the street. It's also the two middle numbers of the postal code. There are even welcome signs when entering districts. So yes, the locals heavily use the district numbers.
@TheFrowin2 жыл бұрын
I personally would never recommend anyone to move to the districts 10.Favoriten (except Oberlaa) and 11.Simmering this are shabby district with a high population of immigrants. limited access to public transportations means you have to walk a little, omg :D ...gee, you guys are so spoiled :D ... during the last year I walked pretty much every district of Vienna, even the most remote ones, and I rarely found a place from which I had to walk more than a few minutes before finding AT LEAST a bus stop... I mean, hell, even such remote places such as Salmannsdorf, Potzleinsdorf and such have access... and if someone lives at a place with really almost no access, it is usually by choice and they have a car... anyways, not a bad video :)

Most immigrants (Turkish, Serbians, etc) are in Favoriten (10th) and Ottakring (16th), in Leopoldstadt (2nd) you have a lot of Jews, who sometimes can be really impolite (of course not all of them). Fact is, that living in Vienna became really expensive over the last years. So if it doesn’t have to be Vienna, I would choose another Austrian city …
