Hi Josh I don't have 'Theme Editor' under Appearance, just 'Additional CSS' which goes to the customise page

There should be an option to enable it. In your WP admin area toward the bottom, click on security. Different hosts will show it differently but there should be a toggle switch available for "theme options."

I have child theme but my css that I got from various tutorials is in the divi theme options. I'm afraid to move it without messing things up. Also there is no theme editor under Appearance on mine. what to do? I think I got my free child theme from ET. Also one of the tutorials I used code from had javascript code as well. Where does that go in child theme?

I think it's handy for development but I'd probably set myself a reminder to disable it again if I were to hand the site over to a client for example.

That is the SiteGround optimizer plugin so if you host with them you can use that. Otherwise there are a lot of handy cache plugins! www.siteground.com/blog/sg-optimizer/

Adding custom css in the dashboard is the shittiest idea ever. If you have dozens of extra css lines, you simply cannot see any changes in real time. If you wanna see what you have done, you have to refresh... so you are not focused in your work, but on jumping from one window to another and refreshing . That is why all those editors are just toys :) Webflow is cool... but their breakpoints are simply crap. Adobe once had a great visual www builder - reflow, but they killed it before it got mature !!!

Great Info. I'm new to using Divi theme. If I add the CSS to theme options will that apply to every page I create?

Yes, but editing css in the dashboard ( to afcect all the pages ) is a pain in the ass beacause to see the changes you have made, you have to refresh as far as i am concerned :)

It's a good intro video, but newbies watching this should definitely watch videos that explain why you should or shouldn't put code in particular places. You should know what the benefits, limitations and common practices are.

The answer is sorta at 5:00 everything before is a confusing mess that will scare you off of DIVI entirely. Hope the tutorials aren''t like this.

For the life of me I do not understand how a theme (basically a page builder disguised as a theme) can't make some of this easier. The need to apply custom CSS to do things that are SOOOO simple in Thrive Architect just blows my mind. Custom CSS to align elements in a column. Custom CSS to do many things that other page builders make simple is do frustrating I don't even know where to begin.
