I love this series. I have been researching the issue of attitudes and behaviour in sustainable fashion consumption. And why young consumers have positive attitudes towards sustainability but don't show it in their behaviour. It's nice that you show shops that are trying to be more sustainable while still selling stylish clothes.

When I was 20 (10 years ago) I bought one of those thick winter scarves from Zara in Paris and got a skin infection that spread all over my body. It took me multiple weeks to get rid of it. I told the store manager and she was like "everyone knows you should wash everything you buy from us because when the clothes arrive we always find insects and sometimes dead animals like rats in the boxes." The legal team never apologized. I never went back inside a store.

I feel bad for your terrible experience, especially the lack of class from the management team and disregard for your situation. However, I do agree you should wash clothes before you wear them. As I have worked retail in food and clothing. Please wash triple wash your produce, wash blankets, wash clothing, wash… these products come from factories and warehouses. I’ve been into slower/sustainable fashion for a few years now but still bought some basics from there. Now with boycotting hm and Zara (among other companies), this is sooo helpful, thank you.

I freaking LOVE Quince. I own their silk skirts, shirts, Tencell dresses and their cashmere/cotton sweaters. The prices and very reasonable and the quality is great. Highly recommend!

I like reformations styles but their sizes are off. You usually have to size up - especially if you’re curvy. And their quality varies… like it could be better based on the price point.

So far, the cashmere sweater that I got from them, for a fraction of the price compared to other stores, I LOVE. I want to try more things and see how the quality is overall.

I like kotn but they’re always out of stock on what I want 😅. Quince is nice! Quality can be hit or miss but the price is great. :)

I hate shopping online. I like trying on something on fast without waiting 5 to 7 business days for shipping. Do you know a brick and mortar store like Zara that's not online?

Yea it’s definitely similar to Zara & H&M in that aspect but I have found that it can be hit or miss depending on what you get & I still think they have a better selection than Zara most of the time.. Atleast online.
