@@lolo-fj7dt Gender does matter. All my friends who openly spoke about coding frequently were only men. I went through four years of undergrad and two years of graduate school just to learn that many of my women friends learned coding for predominately biology/stats purposes. When I asked my friends on my IG on what language to start learning, 7 of the 9 people who replied back to me were women. This was REFRESHING because I had no idea they were fluent in specific coding languages because only men ever talk about it. Not enough women code, so prominent women coders in the public can also influence girls/women to also be interested and not intimidated to enter a field that appears to be predominately men.

Feedback, you did an amazing job explaining how to get started with coding. You came across as a seasoned professional and kept my attention as you didn't say things like um , you guys etc. I applaud your ability to speak with such confidence about the subject I am a IT web developer, graduated in 2013 from UOP, I have been to countless interviews and always get the message that they like me and think I would fit into the culture well but to be honest they are looking for someone with 3 to 5 yrs experience. When asked if they could suggest how to get that experience, they said volunteer my services! LOL right, I am 67 yrs old, have a mortgage, car payments, insurance and all the other bills to pay each month. I have to work to pay those bills I don't live at home with Mom and Dad. So after a year or so of searching I gave up and went back to the hospitality industry and during that time have designed a few wed sites for friendsl It's been a while since I have done any coding. I think what you have offered would be a great way for me to revisit the skills that I learned in school. Thank you for working so hard to help others realize their dreams!

I watched the rest of this video and signed up for the Google IT Support Cert Course via Coursera. thank you so much, I was just in my MBA program my first week but I felt this is not me. I had been struggling with the idea of coding and afraid to take the leap. But your videos have helped a lot. Thank you, again. I jumped last night and although still a bit afraid I have no other choice but to immerse myself in this study.

im also in school, like it better because there is more structure to learning rather than always wondering if you're doing the right thing or just wasting time. harder to tell if you're doing well or not compared to others.

This video really spoke to me-I’ve been looking into resources for the past few weeks when I should actually just get started and figure out what methods/platforms/resources fit my needs. My main priority is to build upon my extremely basic knowledge of SQL to build more powerful and efficient query statements for a database project at work. I’ve also always wanted to build/design websites so I want to learn HTML, CSS and Java and eventually others. Thanks to you, I just enrolled in the Harvard CS50 course that coincidentally starts TODAY! I love your channel-keep up the amazing work! 🙌🏾💗🇳🇬
