Assalamu Alaikum I have stayed at Pullman Zamzam Makkah (clock tower) during Hajj time. Which was busy. Some advice that I would like give is, try and spend as much time in the Haram as possible. The best veiw of the Ka'baa is from the Mataaf area. It will beat the veiw from any hotel or viewing deck etc. Do not wait till Athaan time to leave for Salah. Leave at least 15 minutes before each Athaan. Spend each time in Umrah/Hajj as if it maybe your last time there. I hope these advices are useful. Jazakallahu Khair Yunus

We stayed in Fairmont Mecca clock tower during October for Umrah and it was actually very good. They have a restaurant at the reception floor and they have another one on the 29th floor and it’s very easy to find if you follow the numbers of the elevators and there’s hotel workers everywhere to guide you. I went to the prayers five times a day and was there on time with no problem. Maybe you went in a peak season.

So my husband and I stayed at these hotels: -Al Ghufran safwah (this is a great hotel, especially during Ramadan, but the women’s mosque in the hotel has no view) -Makkah hotel (we stayed here a few times, this is actually closer to the Haram than Swissotel Makkah, was there just in January. Be careful when booking here, it’s different from Makkah towers) -Makkah Towers (terrible old hotel. Nothing is good here except the location. Makkah hotel is between these two towers, will never stay here again) - Hayatt Regency (way, wayyyyy overrated, not worth the money) - Faimount hotel ( just ok, I won’t stay there again, the food is not good, you’ll change elevators twice before the ground floor, then long walk to the haram and lots of kids harassing you at the entry of the mall., great for shopping tho) - Anjum ( close to the extension, but far from the Kaaba, if you want to do daily Tawaf) -Pullman is terrible same for Pullman Madina… We booked Jumeirah for this coming Ramadan Insha’Allah, will update. For Madinah the best hotel we stayed in is Dar Al Taqwa, especially for the ladies.

I’ve stayed at the Fairmont twice, and while it is a bit inconvenient to take two lifts, we had no issues with waiting and the lifts usually came pretty fast

Safwah tower hotels are a really good option also. Stayed at Dar al ghufran and the 2 sets of lifts that you have to take are super fast.

Swissotel is so good we stayed during hajj easy access to Haram , clean rooms haram view and delicious breakfast . Anjum hotel with an awesome experience during umrah with a little more walk of 5 mins but the hotel itself and breakfast was so good and deliciously fulfilling.

I stayed at Swissotel Almaqam at the Abraj towers. Absolutely amazing experience but I understand when you say congestion! Might try Jabal Omar next time insha'Allah. The walk was very quick to the Haram...is it the same from Jabal Omar? And what hotel do you recommend that is literally minutes walk from the Haram? Jzk!

I stayed at clock timer swissotel and it was the best .not busy and only few minutes walk to haram .it’s hard to get booking there though .highly recommended.

I think swiss o tell has a separate entrance. U mentioned both swis and fair mount and only shared ur fairmonnt experience which is misleading. The access for swisotel is much easier and it is better in terms of walking g distance from jabal.

To me, Conrad is the best one. Actually closer to the entrance to Haram compared to clock towers. And it is isolated and less crowded.

We did Swissotel Makkah during hajj. Swissotel Makkah (not Swissotel Maqam) was amazing. The elevator goes directly down from the hotel room to the ground floor (i.e. there is not two sets of elevators). The walk to the haram is good too because the hotel has its own side entrance which does not require you to use the main clock tower gate. We actually just booked Pullman ZamZam assuming all hotels in clock tower were great, but were we wrong....there are some scary reviews for Pullman ZamZam (insects, smell, etc.). Will be booking Swissotel Makkah to stay on safe side.

Assalamualaikum... Have stayed in swisotel al maqam.. Best hotel, best location.. It also has a seperate entrance which makes it super easy, even in peak times it's not that bad, u can easily go nd get back.. Swisotel is highly recommended..

Key thing to note here when people say close to the haram it will vary depending on what you do. If you wish to do tawaf inside the Kaba then you'll need to walk extra from Jabal omar from my understanding. The new jabal omar development is close to the haram in terms of the new extension part so If your simply looking to pray and dont mind praying there then its pretty close. But if your looking to pray more inside the haram then the hotels near clock towers is likely best bet but again as the sister stated it will be busy. Tbh even if it is an extra 10-15 mins walk, i think that is minor for someone in good health. Therefore when you're chosing your horel just base it on preference to style, price and food etc.

Jabal Omar can walk straight into 79 Gate, which is Kabah. But I agree it should be based on price style and amenities.

I had stayed in Clock Tower .. well in Swiss Makkam - I think it's in the clock tower but it had 3 entrances, one was just half a min or min walk to the Haram area .. so avoided the shopping entrances and it was very convenient... I thought the hotels in Jabal Omar had shuttle bus as hilly .. so. not as near as Clock Tower .. but I think people have preferences... lifts can be annoying I guess

The top hotels in Jabal Omar have shuttles the bottoms are haram side. Yes definitely preferences. Fairmont is also inside only

I’ve been a few times and going back in 2 weeks. Clock tower is out as I don’t want to miss a prayer. I’m contemplating between Makkah hotel and al ghufran but not sure. Have you been to any of 2? What do you think?

I have been to Makkah Hotel and a friend stayed there during Ramadan. Excellent for getting out quick but outdated. If that doesn't bother you location is awesome

Very similar as it is a little bit further down. They do have upgrades for diamonds and lounge access where Sauites doesn't. You asked for the best option however in terms of accessibility. I stay at conrad mostly
