You're right. It's a big city and everyone had their preferences. There are other areas that are equally as nice as Sukhumvit I think.

Hi! I am loving watching all your Thailand videos! I am planning a trip for my family ( 2 adults + 2 teens) for next April and would love to know which area in Bangkok you recommend we stay in? Sukhumvit vs Chinatown vs Khaosan road area. Not going to be doing any clubbing, but definitely exploring the main attractions and trying all the street foods. We are there for 3 days before heading north to Chiang Mai and then South to Krabi. Appreciate your advice :)
@AlwaysonaJourney Жыл бұрын
I would recommend to stay in Chinatown because it's not far from the main tourist attractions, such as palace, Khao san Rd. In this area there is a pier that you can travel along the river as well and the food in Chinatown i would say it's the one of the best in bkk. Hope this information will help you to make a decision.

@@AlwaysonaJourney Really appreciate you taking the time to respond! Helps a ton and I will definitely book in Chinatown. Thank You!

Which area is suitable for indian/Pakistani families near to food option and children for fun. Please advise - thank you
@AlwaysonaJourney7 ай бұрын
Try Little India (Phahurat): This vibrant neighborhood is close to Chinatown, offering a wealth of delicious halal restaurants. Both areas are well-served by the MRT subway, making it easy to get around with your family. If you want to remain stay in Sukumvit, You can go to Nana in Sukhumvit might be a good fit. This area is famous among tourists from S.Asian countries and Middle East. While the area itself has some halal restaurants, it's also close to major shopping malls like Siam Paragon and Central World, which offer a variety of dining options and fun activities for kids. The BTS Skytrain provides convenient access to these malls and other parts of Bangkok.

Is it better to book hotel at SUKHUMVIT or NANA plaza ? And for which reasons ?

It depends on your preferences and what you would like to do during your trip. I've never stayed at Nnana Plaza.

Thank you for a great video. Me and my husband are traveling to Bangkok in Feb for our wedding anniversary and are real foodies. My husband is a Chef and interested in trying real local food not a tourist experience. I think we should aim to stay near one of the side roads but not sure which one. I also read about Sukhumvit Soi 34 but with only 4 days in Bangkok before we go to Chiang Mai , where would you recommend for us to stay. We are interested in going to a club or two but mostly interested in authentic food night market and cheap accommodation.
@AlwaysonaJourney11 ай бұрын
Hello. I think in Sukhumvit you are really spoilt for choice. I stayed in Phra Khanong. There is lots of tasty and cheap food close by. If you want nightlife that's not too far away either.

I would recommend Nana if you want to remain in sukunvit, or you can stay in Chinatown where Little india is a neighbourhood nearby. Both of them very close to bkk metro station that you can go around.

If by "cultural experiences" you mean upscale malls, rents 500% higher than comparable units only 3km away, surrounded by well-off expats from around the world and eating your "local" food in an air-conditioned, brick and mortar building with a team of wait staff dressed in uniform and you can spend your entire time getting by with out being able to have a simple conversation in the language, Sukhumvit from Soi 1 - Soi 50 is the place for you. It's all an experience. But is it authentic?
@AlwaysonaJourney Жыл бұрын
Thanks for leaving your opinion here. It sounds like you aren't a fan of Sukhumvit. Which areas do you prefer?

I had fine time there pattaya, stone city with just English and Google translate. I understand your frustration going to another country and the people don’t speak the language, but the Thai people are very kind from my experience and helpful

I just wonder how they make the words, 'now' and 'stay' into three syllables! Only the Ulster folk an emulate the same. I stay in Sukhumvit when I'm in Bangkok but in the Ploenchit area. Very easy for getting around to the shops and some decent nightlife. Another area that is good is off of Sathorn Tai. Suanphlu has a number of good hotels even off the main street. It like a London village with shops and food stalls and restaurants for ordinary folk. Decently priced too.
