I have been visiting Thailand flor more than 25 years and I got family there as well. I can surely say that, from all the videos around about Thailand, your channel is one of the very few depicting Thailand as it is -its past and present, culture, religion, society- without nonsense. Congratulations and thank you. Keep it up please.

@BangkokPat2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Often when you book a hotel and have never been to the area you may regret commiting to booking too many nights if you don't like where it is, and Nana is not everyone's cup of tea.
@twentyrothmans73082 жыл бұрын
@@BangkokPat I guess the tipping point was sitting in a taxi for an hour on my way back from MBK or my tailor to East Bangkok all the time. As you suggest, Nana isn't really me but you have to see it once. My Thai friend is an exec with a major hotel and I think she takes it personally when I don't stay there. They treat me like royalty when I arrive and it is difficult to resist. It's an art form to decline or say 'no' in Thai - worthy of a video in itself.

Hi Pat: Great post. After what will be three years of the 'no fly' we have had plenty of time to plan our next visit, and we had chosen soi 10 a year ago due to its access to the park. We used to stay closer to Queen's Park and would walk there every morning, but Benjakitti provides a much bigger loop that we have taken advantage of for a couple of years. And my favourite 'gold guy' is right on the corner of Suk 10.

Soi 11 is a good place to stay. It has lots of places to eat and it's near the more busy parts of the area, but slightly removed. You can use the Nana BTS station to cross Sukhumvit Road which gives you clear access to Soi 8. @Dellboy k You’re absolutely spot-on. pat’s videos are super informative

Thanks Delboy, I try and fit as much as possible into every video, people always moan about such small things and compare prices but the way I see it, I go where the quality is. Siam Sq is busy all the time but you don't get the underbelly of drug dealers and freelancers lurking like Sukhumvit, Silom isn't that busy now so for all in value Sukhumvit fits the bill I think.
