Hey, Rob. How are you? I like the map. Very helpful. That's cool how you're a photographer by trade. :) If you don't mind me asking, what inspired your love for photography? :) I used to do more photography (more of a small hobby during trips) and I love looking at the photos that others take of nature and cities. It was cool seeing the battlefield area and the view that Rawlinson would've had. I appreciate the information about communications difficulties. It's a good overview and helpful for understanding why he didn't get the full picture during the battle (at least at first). The chateau is beautiful. Cool photo. It's incredible how well preserved the building is (especially given how the section of the building in the photo looks generally unchanged today). Wow. It was staggering to hear how the actual number of deaths was significantly higher than the estimate. Awesome video as always! Have a great morning, Rob. Thanks Alex. My main jobs are sports photography based which I got into through basketball (playing and then photographing it) from there I moved to football and other sports

Your videos are awesome! Is it possible for you to ncrease the volume on your audio? I'm constantly increasing the sound when you speak and then decreasing when you have the transition music. It is across all your videos. Anyways, keep up the good work!

One of the best panorama’s of The Somme battlefields I’ve seen…….. and I live local so have a good idea of the layout. But come on mate…”Albert”…….it’s not “Only Fools and Horses”!! If you can say Bonjour in a cafe you can look online whilst editing and pronounce Albert properly.

Don't worry I know how it's pronounced - I tend to make a point of calling the places the names the Tommies had for them back then. I know it's not pronounced Oceanvillas too 😉

What a burden the Generals carried for the rest of there lives we get this lion led by donkeys which is just unfair Senior officers at that time we dealing with a new concept in war and they had to learn as they went on Fighting Natives or Boars was a different thing all together from WW1

“Quite Satisfactory”?? Your panorama there shows they could not fail to see what was going on, locally at least that morning. For those who have not had the chance to visit the view from the Thiepval Memorial around to the right is easily visible from Albert. In fact (correct me if I’m wrong) their direct line of sight virtually looks straight down “Sausage & Mash Valleys” towards the Lochnagar Crater where some of the greatest slaughter took place. For those unable to visit the camera work gives a great view of the topography and the typical slopes the Allies were having to negotiate just to reach the German trenches. I’ve ridden down there on my bike a few times and when you drop down from the Newfoundland Memorial and then climb up towards the Thiepval Memorial past the Ulster Memorial without having to look it up it’s something like 7or 9%!!
