I don't think Wilder was there only for the money. I think he thought he'd clip Parker and get him out of there at some point. Wilder thought Parker would be scared and make a mistake ... then "BOOM!" time to go home. But, a rusty Wilder ran into a game, in-shape fighter who wasn't scared and was ready to go. Wilder looked totally perplexed.

Agree. I think the same for Fury to a large degree as well. I was a Fury follower way back when, and although he snoozed us all on his way to beating Vlad in 2015, it was a very solid W. Since then, we haven't seen much. But on topic, Wilder ... people talk about him beating Oritz ... I remember watching Ortiz take many rounds to get rid of Dave Allen, who probably walked straight out of Wetherspoons into the ring.

Not sure about that, I just think Wilder as usual was relying on his 1 hit, Parker is obviously a tough man who had the right hand caution drilled into him. He came with his head tucked into Wilders chest and Wilder just looked terrible as usual. Age does play a factor but any version of Wilder would been the same he was just a one dimensional right hand.

Dubois beat a guy that was 100lbs heavier than him and didn't quit like I expected him to. Miller literally just walks forward eating punches with his hands up every fight. Jai is a monster, Usyk moved up to Heavyweight at the right time😂😂 Andy Lee said it was the perfect time to get Wilder because he was so inactive. Smart gameplan for Parker's team Wilder spent to much time enjoying being in Saudi when he should've been focused on his fight. Nobody to blame but himself for the loss but I'm sure he'll come back strong. Nobody should be blaming Malik Scott. Joshua looked good but people need to stop saying "the old Joshua is back" He fought someone he beat twice in the amateurs and sparred with for hundreds of rounds. Let's not pretend like he beat Godzilla. He still needs to fight Wilder and Fury

@svb54619 ай бұрын
I disagee with your synopsis. Here's my take: 1. Miller does walk forward every fight but he also detonates regularly (he had the highest punch output of all HW for a long time before his ban). This was a good fight for DDD and he performed well. 2. Jai is a beast, but he's not done enough yet to suggest that he would better Usyk. Usyk is a phenom, he moved up to Heavyweight becasue he totally dominated and conquered the Cruiserweight division. United all belts in 14 fights. There is no comparion here. Not yet, anyway. 3. It's true, inactivity did not help Wilder, however, Parker is simply a better boxer. The media and others sensationalised Wilder and his abilities. The reality is he has never faced and bettered a top 10 opponent. At top level, being a "1 trick pony" is never enough. His handlers knew this hence why he never truly beat a fighter at the "top level". Ortiz rocked him to his boots but was 50 years old and couldn't finish. Fury spanked him 3 times (even in the first fight where Fury was freshly back from a coke binge and morbid obesity) Parker handled him in every single round for the entrie fight. Embarrassment. He's simply not good enough and doesn't belong with the elite HW's. He's been brutally exposed. 4. The performance by Joshua certainly look like hes back and back better than before. He controlled distance far better than he's done when he was more aggressive (pre Ruiz 1). His shot selection was better. His knowledge of when to punish and pause is noticeabley better. He was far more committed to his power punches than anything we've seen over the last 5 years. Also, a note on Wallin: he's a very decent fighter. Tricky southpaw with good movement in IQ. Beaten good opponents (Gassiev etc.) and only lost to the elites (Fury and now AJ). AJ dismantled him with supreme ease whilst Fury had 12 rounds of pain with him. He's actually gotten better since the Fury fight so this performance was all the more impressive from AJ. All in all its exciting times in the HW division. Frauds are being exposed and the cream is rising to the top.

@@svb5461 1. Miller is just a big durable guy, he was a good test for DDD but was literally a walking punching bag 2. Obviously you're caught up in Usyk's hype and haven't really seen Jai based on what you just said 3. Again Andy Lee and Parker HIMSELF said they took the Wilder fight because of how inactive Wilder was. They were betting on him to be rusty, it's not about Parker being a better boxer, he just capitalized on a good opportunity. Also you sit here and pretend like Parker destroyed Wilder or something. They both looked terrible if we're being honest, Parker won rounds mainly because he was the more active fighter each round not because he performed exceptionally well😂 "He never bettered a top 10"

Deontay's footwork failed him. His inactivity, listlessness from too much cryo, and contradictory gameplan made it so he never even showed up. His extremely low workrate and reliance on a now-predictable right combined with him leaning backward with high hands and a high chin almost got him onocked out - Deontay's chin is really strong to take that much punishment on tippy toes without a knockdown. I hated that version of Deontay Milder. If D has any self-respect he'll lock in for the next fight, train properly this time, get his legs and footwork together for once, and up his workrate. A prepared Deontay will DESTROY his next op. This Deontay leaves his next fight with a ko loss. It's up to him which Deontay shows up next.
