In México if an employee thinks financially out of the box and opens up to propose ideas of partnership and new business, he or she will be seen as a threat by the owner or manager 99.9 % of the times.

The main problem with starting or buying a business is - the corporate structure is based on exploitation. Are we helping the elderly? No. We are getting the best ROI on the real estate deal. As soon as its not $$$, fk the elderly. Dump that bad deal on some suckers and exploit some other market. Society is built on trust. Its not built on money. Exchange trust for money and society crumbles. You get rich, your world gets poor, zero sum game. And when it gets bad, run "somewhere else" right? Well, they WERE customers, but now they are criminals, so fk em. We need a new way to get rich, not more fisherman coming up with more and more cunning ways to extract the last cent out of every situation.

This is very American mindset, and also you need to find the right people who are open-mindend and willing to play this game with you, otherwise good ideas, worth keeping them in mind, just in case something comes up..... also we should not forget about decreasing customer demand. The problem is that these topics are coming up now.... not 10 years ago where investing was relatively risk free.

My question is always the same... in an ageing society, where also everyone wants to be an influencer, where do you find employees actually doing the work?

Fuck it, I'm just DCA'ing into an index fund and a small portion of my portfolio into individual stocks. If I won a lottery I'd put the money in a dividend ETF like SCHD.

This advice is honestly terrible. Telling people who have no expertise and saying “go buy a business and pay someone a $100k to go run it for you.” Boom. Money made. 😆 This is why soooo many people are going broke, especially in America, because they think they can throw money at something (money that they don’t have and will borrow from a bank) and that the business will just operate like clockwork. It’s not guaranteed to work! You have to KNOW what you are doing!

It's not the advice that¨s terrible. Only your interpretation of it. They didn't say go pay somebody 100K, find somebody who is willing to pay you that first 100K to run their business. The only way to convince them is the "Sweat equity" - she said it verbatum! It's the exact opposite of "don't worry, just throw money at it, it will work" Show you are able to solve problems and capable to work 13 hour days 6 days a week. That's your ticket to business. Anybody, who sees that and thinks "That sounds superhard!" is right! I am not in business myself, because I don't have the motivation to go through that, I invest and I am happy.
