Uniek is such a good mother and she's still young enough, I think the fact she was looking for the boys speaks for itself. And in my own opinion, I think one last foal with a healthy birth would really make her happy. She loves Rising Star of course, but I do wonder if she knows he's not really hers though she was very happy to adopt him. My feelings are one last foal might be really good for her, she's an amazing mare and an even better mother. Good luck Uniek!

@@sovereigncreative9987 No, it's a peeve of mine as well, for all of their horses. They're still nursing their foals and they're pregnant again. I'm absolutely not a horse expert by any means but that just seems like way too much to me. Probably not a good comparison, but I know they breed cows every year so they continue to produce milk, and that takes a major toll on their health, I would imagine having so many babies in such a short time frame between pregnancies would be bad for any animal. I mean, they're the experts and I'm certain they'd never to anything to hurt their horses, but like...maybe give them a little break? Skip a year between foals?

I agree whole heartedly. In the video where Yvonne announces she has purchased RS - if you notice - Uniek’s coat is looking very dapple again as well as very thick and healthy - just like when she was in foal last year. I think that Yvonne is really making sure that Uniek is super healthy in this pregnancy.

If Uniek was in heat and received a full specimen from donor Fonger 478, isn't conception assured? Or, do you think that if the insemination somehow "didn't take," that Uniek will have to be inseminated again?

@@virtualselfie6899 I think it's like with any animal that mates or gets inseminated, it just depends if it takes and produces a foal. If it doesn't take , Yvonne will probably consult with the vets again to see if she should try again. I'm thinking the cost of inseminating the mares is pretty expensive. Especially, if they are getting purebred Fresian horses and that might be a determining factor to inseminate her again if this one doesn't take. But that's all speculation on my part.

@@michellel.s.9747 I always thought the insemination took as with dogs and cats. She got the tube all the say down the cervix and air popped the donation all the way down. She was really making sure all the seed reached the egg with that extra air. I guess I'm just nervous. When Linda MOD contacted Yvonne, her lip's were sealed, as I read Linda's reply. Don't know if that's good or bad. Maybe it's a don't know yet. But it is November and the video was made in June and Uniek was inseminated in June, right? So wouldn't they know in 5 months if the insemination took?

I don't know how you tell any of them apart because they're all just unbelievably gorgeous! The Beautiful gelding his name I'm not sure about, I'm really enamored with him he is just so beautiful. It looks as though he could be the father of rising star, they have such similar markings and coloring. I know that he isn't but it's uncanny to me how similar they look. Nooooooo! Our baby Rising Star is getting to be such a big boy!! I have a hard time with this, similar to having a hard time with my 10yo daughter getting so big. She was just an itty bitty little thing when we brought her home (but still a sizable 6 weeks preemie at 5lbs 2oz when she left the NICU after 7-8 days as a "guest"). It was cute watching RS showing interest in Sjors. It's like he was saying "Look, mama, he looks like me!"
