@@yvonnejoordan I totally agree, I'm 60 and newly retired with about 1.2 million outside retirement funds, no debt, and very small dollars in retirement funds compared to my portfolio balance over the past 3 years till date. tbh, the role of the invt-advisor can only be overlooked, not denied. just have to do your research in finding a reputable one.

@@debstrodovan mind sharing info on the adviser who assisted you? been saving for pension since age 18 - company scheme. along the way I hit higher tax, so I added to my company pension with a SIPP (tax benefits) I'm 46 now and would love to grow my finance more aggressively, there are a few cars I still wish to drive, a few mega holidays, etc.

Is this a good time to buy stocks in the Europe? I know everyone is saying stocks are at a discount and all, but just how long will It take for us to recover, obviously there are strategies to maneuver in this present market but these strategies doesn't come common to the average folk, or am I better off putting my money elsewhere...

Well I mean for long term. It can be good rn to invest if you can find those stocks that will grow once this bear market is out. Buying those cheaper stock prices will definitely benefit later on if you make the right choices.

An idea… evaluate and rank the GlobalX family of funds (dividend payers). Dividend yield, historical stock prices, risk rating, etc.. They have a LOT of offerings… yet quite young in historical information, so your thoughts would be really helpful. Thanks!

why not look at SCHD Vs individual KO (you get KO&PEP in SCHD) & MRK (you get with SCHD)??? Boring buy it & forget it ETF Vs picking the stocks you want but might be in that boring etf. I would have to disagree with the spinoff idea you have maybe in general but ATT/WBD - WBD is not treading even close to their original spin off price
