Glad to see that Roslyn Peninsula got some love. I play on console so I only have the 9 tiles to play with. I think it’s a beautiful map and I love watching the sun interact with the mountains in the background of my city.

I'm not a prolific builder in the game, trending to stick to a map for a while at a time. But I hadn't really paid attention to that map til now. Seeing it was a pleasant surprise, as it's the type of map that'd normally tempt me. 🙂

Plus if you don't mind destroying one of the admittedly-beautiful mountain streams, then it's one of the only ways a console user has access to a manipulable water source. You can terraform it quite low or high (it moves up and down with the land level), and if you don't surround it, it'll pump out quite a huge stream of water. Great for creating tuna, floodland, or an isolated lake. You can even get two if you pick the right tiles.

@@Torthrodhel yes! I did that in my city and now have a faux river rolling through one of my downtown neighborhoods and past one of those dug out metro plazas. I’m not amazing at terraforming but I think it looks alright, and I didn’t complete destroy the origin of the mountain stream

"It lives up to its name, it's certainly a peninsula." How far you've come since Palaven when I remember you debating with yourself whether or not a bit of the riverfront was a peninsula. I love Roslyn personally. I'm a sucker for maps with lots of coastline and Rosyln is like the most coast.

Murky Coast is one of my favorite maps, but Northwood Hills was a real challenge and a lot of fun...

Yeah the one time I tried playing on a boreal map the fog and mist drove me crazy so I stopped playing it. Glad to know I can use the eye candy mod to change it.

There's about 900 mods that'll remove fog as well, so check your mod list, you might already have one, lol

I kinda want to start building on all of these maps. They look so much better than basegame maps. It's nice getting to know all of these maps like this, makes it easier to choose next time I start a city. I definitely want to give the peninsula a go, it looks pretty cute. Thanks for the video!

Great series. I'm currently using Murky Coast (while watching Palaven from the beginning). It's a really good map. Only problem so far occurred when I connected the two highways using roads that went through my two towns. Immediately everyone and their dog were cutting across the map to get to the other highway and my traffic went from 80% to 50%. Heck Ned. Spent my morning building a new highway connecting the two and fixing that problem.

You do have to be careful building connecting roads. You have to look and see (future) what will happen. Most times if you just give it a good look you'll see if you build X road at a spot everyone is going to cut through because it's shorter. That will cause so much traffic it's better to not even build it.

My most recent city has been on Roslyn Peninsula and it’s pretty weird to see the map completely empty. A thing worth noting, make sure you get more tiles with highway and rail access. It is very limited in this map and I unfortunately only managed to get one tile with a tiny bit of those connections and train traffic got seriously backed up

That's what let's it down playing on console, 1 highway entrance yes you can buy more but they take away from your main buildable space

Marin Bay has two negative things: 1) Just one train connection. If playing vanilla, you're locked to use highways for a while, and 2) This map is so vulnerable to tsunamis! Players will lose a lot of time rebuilding.

Marin Bay is bad if you get a nasty Tsunami, it will wipe out your OG spot easily.

Tab ideas: egg based recipes (omelette, eggy bread etc); search about Taron Eg(g)erton; eggcellent Christmas presents; swap first/last words of films with “egg” (egg it like beckham, egg girls, egg man, 500 days of Egg)

"Boreal theme maps are unplayable without mods" - LMFAO, whoever said that thinks WAY to highly of themselves. Sure, there's some fog, but to say it's unplayable is such a shit comment. How about turn the brightness on your tv/monitor up if you are that bothered by it Else, I agree w/ your assessments today (shocking), although I do find it interesting that you B'd "Northwood Hills", considering you said it was a contender for what map Palaven got built on when you were deciding. I would have A'd all the B ones though; Campus DLC is, IMO, the best maps (minus Azure Gulf, of course)
