Love how you did a very complete review into detail, and how you compare these three. Thank you so much for your help :D

I love my original MiniBrute, I think it's a great design and very unique. It's one of the first modern synths that uses the legendary 3340 oscillator and it has the amazing Steiner Parker multimode filter which sounds great. It's a very capable synth and it's got a nice keyboard too.

Love seeing the brute family together like that! Completely agree with all of your points. The Steiner Parker sounds quite improved from Minibrute to Matrixbrute. Although, I do think that the Minibrute can make more complex tones than its simple interface suggests. The envelope controlled metalizer + the dryness of the Steiner Parker easily take it beyond the range of typical subtractive patches. I'm receiving my Polybrute later today. As I wait I'm hyping myself up with videos like yours :) I also have 4 micrbrutes and a minibrute. I think I'm addicted to the brutes haha. Would love to get the Drumbrute and Matrixbrute next year to round out the lineup. Awesome channel btw

Pbrute is the most versatile synth at the moment. Matrixbrute the dudes who made it had a pure raw industrial berlin techno sound in their heads. And i like it...

My favourite is microbrute despite I sold it to get MB2. The brute factor is way better on the Microbrute

oh yea, minibrute 2 is a very good development from the first one, which I have. I use mine to play live gigs with the impro orchestra plus a reverb, it works amazingly well.

Judging by this video the Matrixbrute sounded best to me. The Minibrute sounded thin and the Polybrute very clean in comparison. I didn't measure but I think they weren't loudness normalised here and I think the Matrixbrute was the loudest, which could skew the perception.

had a nice volume balance on my studio monitors. the basic waveforms are very similar.... differences massive in the "brute" feedback and the filter in hi res...

Imho the best Brute is...to own them all !!! I have a micro and I'd like to get a mini1 The poly is the ultimate...polybrute while the Matrix is the ultimate super monosynth ! I love the Brute character as they're both super aggressive and they cut through the mix in a very special way ! Great comparison btw

I have MatrixBrute and like the raw power and rudeness. Poly brute sounds like a sibling in Black tie, so Polite ; ) . besides that I also use a playfull Arturia Freak and the Analog LAB V

yup, can be polite... a matter of personal taste I'd say. Also like the freak!

polybrute and minibrute 2? how they sound together
@denovaire3 жыл бұрын
I guess the MB2 sound is not much different from the first version. It has more routing and cv possibilities. But since the polybrute has no cv (except sync)... it does not offer any advantage.
