AC Odyessy made me appreciate literally every other game in the franchise in practically every way and most rpgs. I am currently on a break playing Baldur's Gate 3 because I completely lost any investment in what I was doing in Odyessy. In my last session in Odyessy started I killing civilians because I was completely disconnected from what was happening in the game. So here's my list: 1. Ezio Trilogy (All three are too close for me to separate them) 2. AC1 3. AC 4 4. AC Origins 5. AC Unity 6. AC Valhalla 7. AC 3 & Liberation 8. AC Mirage (before release) 9. AC Syndicate 10. Odyssey (by default)

I am a bit of a Syndicate apologist. I think it could have been even better than Unity if it had the same side content as it did, like the Paris Stories and Murder Mysteries, which would have been perfect for a Victorian London setting. In addition I loved the recreation of Victorian England, as I personally find that era of history fascinating. Also I think Syndicate was just overall more refined and polished with its moment to moment gameplay I think they should have just cut out Jacob entirely and focused solely on Evie as the protagonist, who I think was a far more compelling character. Sadly Ubisoft and women don't have the best track record, so that was never going to happen

Just wanted to make a quick point. I went on a hiatus from Odyessy before this video was uploaded and played Baldur's Gate 3 in the meantime. I have more hours in BG3 than my current playthrough of Odyessy. I think that speaks for itself. I also started a new game in Valhalla long before this current run of Odyessy in prep for a playthrough of that game and still have more time racked up than this run with Odyessy. Point being, Odyessy is so bad I stopped playing it in the middle of a playthrough to play other games to maintain any level of motivation to beat the damn thing. Odyssey should not exist.

My personal list is 1. *AC Revelations* (hands down the best story, best dialogue, most emotional, mature Ezio is top notch) 2. *AC Brotherhood* (Rome is an amazing setting, story is exciting, love Ezio) 3. *AC II* (Ezio... Do I need to say more?) 4. *AC IV Black Flag* (as you said, best Priate game to this day, likeable protagonist, interesting approach to the motives of the protagonist, and I'm one if the few who actually really enjoyed the modern day plotline. I really loved sneaking around Abstergo and finding all the clues) 5. *AC Origins* (amazing story and protagonist, enjoyed thr RPG elements) 6. *AC I* (a classic, the first AC game I played. Gameplay was a bit repetitive, but story was amazing) 7. *AC Syndicate* (loved the setting, enjoyed the gripping hook, could have gone without Jacob though, Evie was perfectly fine on her own) 8. *AC Odyssey* (not a good AC game, still enjoyed playing it as an RPG) 9. *AC Unity* (played it on release and the bugs made it unplayable and hence made me biased against the game, even though the bugs are long patched by now) 10. *AC Valhalla* (felt like a chore) 11. *AC III* (imho, a dislikeable main character and a weird story with plot holes - also, the setting was the least exciting to me personally)

@adamdavis1737 Жыл бұрын
I'm glad your channel got recommended to me and I think this was a great video That being said I disagree with so much of it, the majority of it even Revelations was the first one I didn't like, in fact I think to this day I put it at my very bottom because it felt like an absolute chore for me to finish it The story wasn't as engaging as two or brotherhood for me, the setting felt bland rather than exciting to explore, the den mini games sucked, and I didn't feel like returning to play as Altair was all that exciting either I would also put origins and Odyssey well above Valhalla personally. Odyssey has a hell of a lot of issues but to me that's one of those games that once you put some time into it becomes really great because at that point the game finally opens up and you don't feel so massively underpowered for everything Valhalla on the other hand because it takes itself more seriously is lacking a lot of the charm that obviously at least managed to have, and I absolutely love Cassandra, I think her voice actress is phenomenal and manages to bring her to life in whatever way you choose to play her Origins is probably my favorite in the franchise, I go back and forth between that one and Black Flag. I thought that setting was an absolute joy to explore and I quite liked Bayek as a protagonist, he's not the best in the series but he was sympathetic and the chemistry between him and his wife was great. And I thought it was a good setup ultimately to founding the assassins I would put syndicate higher up on the list than you do, I think it's an entry that ends up being a bit unremarkable but can also be a lot of fun to play. Things are just solid, it's just the story that doesn't captivate me and as cool as London is it doesn't quite have the same grandeur that some of the other locations do in the franchise Unity I probably agree on, it could have and should have been great but it was pumped out too early and it also was the first one in the series that I didn't finish just because it was the first time I felt like an Ubisoft map was just so littered with icons everywhere that it became overwhelming rather than enticing Rogue, I like that one better than you do as well however I really don't disagree with any of the flaws that you point out either. That was another one where there was a ton of side content but it really felt like filler and I was less enticed to do any of it compared to Black Flag, I did enjoy the story even if some of it doesn't reach its potential, but it's also over way too quickly Black Flag I think is one of the best games ever made never mind games in this franchise You pretty much nailed it on that one. I do think it fits in more with the overall series lore than people give it credit for, it was cool to see the conflict from an outsiders perspective Assassin's Creed 3 I also loved at launch, it's actually one that I like less as time went on only because I can better recognize that there are a lot of glitches and just poor mission design overall. I think if anything the war setting is underutilized, I think they could have done a lot more with it because it just kind of feels like it starts and ends from one chapter to another. They definitely didn't need to shoehorn Connor into all these important events but they could have made that backdrop more exciting with general gameplay. What I like about that game is just the world itself, I'm particularly interested in that era of history so that was cool to see, but between the two major cities and the frontier there is actually an incredibly intricate and complex economy system that you can invest in. You never have to. But it's there and it hooked me, I also liked the changing of the seasons and just in general running around the trees even if that was more linear than traditional parkour That just leaves a few left, the original game hooked me enough with its story and its premise to finish, but I found the open world itself like you said to really serve no purpose other than backdrop, as such I think they could have made the game a little smaller. And the mission structure to get to the assassinations started to feel incredibly repetitive to me. If it weren't for the story I would have given up As such since I thought that game was kind of mixed for how I felt about it I was hesitant to get Assassin's Creed 2. But it was getting really good reviews and I took a chance on it, and holy crap did that game hook me like few others at the time. for a while I would have told you that was the best game in the franchise. I remember just running around the city causing havoc, looking for treasure chests and getting into scuffles and running away from guards. Renaissance Italy didn't necessarily interest me when I heard about it but once you get into the game it is so beautiful and such a joy to traverse. And the story was solid. I actually don't love ezio the way the rest of the franchise fans seem to, however that's not to say I dislike him either. He was definitely a fun character to see go through this journey So that leaves brotherhood, while I don't necessarily rank it as the best in the franchise, I think when I look back on it just as a game, I have to put it above Assassin's Creed 2 despite my initial infatuation with that game. I was less excited about only being in Rome compared to the two cities and countryside of Assassin's Creed 2 But despite it being a lot of reused assets and also almost just feeling like an expansion in some ways, they knocked it out of the park with that one. everything felt more refined, everything felt better to play, and it was more satisfying to me to start to see ezio take on a roll where he was building up the brotherhood and then especially to finally get his revenge As far as ranking them, I don't know that's hard to do. I'm such a fan of this franchise but not for necessarily the overall plot, I'm a fan because I'm an absolute nut for the way they recreate historical playgrounds. So I am often biased just by where the game takes place and then to things like the story and certain gameplay mechanics afterwards. So like I said I can at the very least say between origins and Black Flag they are some of the best open world games I've ever played

Honestly I think Rogue gets a bad rep. Sure it's basically dlc for Black Flag, but Shay is a good protagonist. It makes sense the assassins run gangs; they are a gang. A dogmatic gang, but a gang nonetheless. They murder, steal, and commit so many crimes to gain footholds and power in order to stop the templars. Achilles let them go too far in the colonies, and he paid the price for this hubris. Shay is shown how order is better than chaos and that the assassins can mistep in blindly pursuing knowledge for the sake of freedom. Also origins is my favorite because bayek is the best protagonist and the world is actually thoughtfully made and respectful of egyptology. The older games benefit from nostalgia a bit too much
