We are blessed with so many English translations. I grew up with KJV, moved to NIV and now just recently started using the ESV which I find amazing. I am still vexed that the newer translations like the NIV and ESV get the translations from different manuscripts than the KJV. The missing verses still bother me, but it’s hard for me to go back to KJV due to the old English. I’m thankful though that my ESV bible does provide the missing verses in the footnotes.

@@stevehill353 the vrses which you say they're missing are not supposed to exist, by the way, they do not appear in the original Greek text. This is how we know the KJV is not an accurate translation.

They are not missing. Because older and more numerous Greek/Hebrew transcripts have been found since the KJV was written, they found that the manuscripts the KJV used had those verses added and were not in the larger portion of the older transcripts. So, you have to view it as they added them rather than the newer versions deleting them.

There is not a power that is not given by God. Through providence God raised up the most powerful nation there ever was or will be, the U.S.A., and in its infancy it was given the preserved word of God; “Robert Aitken, a Philadelphia printer, was the first to publish the first American edition of the K.J.V. New Testament in 1781 and the K.J.V. Old Testament in 1782, omitting the Apocrypha. On completion, he petitioned and received from the Congress of the Confederation, an official endorsement that Aitken added to the binding of his Bibles, to assure colonists that they were buying a non-royalist edition: “Resolved, that the United States in Congress assembled… recommend this edition of the Bible to the inhabitants of the United States and hereby authorize him to publish this recommendation.” As a result, the Aitken Bible is often referred to as “The Bible of the Revolution.” The nation was given the KJV, not the dead sea scrolls, not the book of Enoch, not Hebrew books etc. but only the KJV. If God wanted us to understand his word in Hebrew he would have raised this nation up speaking Hebrew. Back in the 1600’s God saw to it that the certain scriptures were translated into English “KJ bible” and was put into print so that all could read for themselves the truth that is in the scriptures. God did this because he knew that he would bring about this powerful nation [U.S.A. and the English language] of ours to lead the world. The scriptures were written by apostles and prophets inspired by God through the Holy Ghost. The compilation and translation to English was also done by the direction of God through the Holy Ghost and he did not make any mistakes, i.e., the fourth horse being “pale” was no mistake, the horse is not green. In Greek mythology, the name Chloris (Khloris Χλωρίς, from khloros χλωρός, meaning "greenish-yellow," "pale green," "pale," "pallid" or "fresh") appears... Pallid 1. pale; faint or deficient in color; wan: a pallid countenance. People say that they believe that scripture was written by the direction of God and the Holy Ghost, which is true. But what you people don’t seem to realize is that the compilation and translation of the bible (KJV) was also done by the direction of God and the Holy Ghost. If the bible was written and compiled by men of opinion and perspective and translated by incompetent translators then you might as well throw it in the trash. The prophets were told what to write and how to write it. The nation was given the symbol of the Eagle, 37 … Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together. Luke 17:37 (KJV), the body being the church, the body of Christ. The nation has the motto and preamble “in God we trust” and “one nation under God”. This greatest and most powerful nation. the U.S.A., has been given the last and best chance to lead the world to heaven on earth or destruction. But like all other nations of power before it (symbolic Israels) the U.S. has chosen destruction and is now the great “liar” saying “in God we trust” and “one nation under God”, it is now the conglomerate of the dragon, beast, false prophet, and harlot, it is Satan loosed from the pit, 7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, 8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth Rev 20:7-8 (KJV). And yet no one seems to know of or speak of a very clear fulfillment of prophecy in our recent history. We (U.S.A.) are the ones who brought down fire from heaven in Aug. of 1945 and we are the ones that gave life to the image of the beast in May of 1948. Rev 13:13-15 (KJV). May God have mercy on his children. Amen

Well put brother David! There are plenty of Scriptures that are essentially the same from one translation to the next. It's tragic that there are disagreements and senseless divisions over what bible translation a person or church uses. The church Jesus called me in used the RSV. My current church uses NIV. I memorized a fair amount of Scripture in RSV. But l'm also glad for ESV, NASB, HCSB, KJV. There are people splitting hairs and saying that certain translations are heresies to the point where they won't have anything to do with others who don't use the same exact bible translation they use. How does that reflect eagerness to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace?

I certainly don't agree with you about your statement regarding the defense of one's doctrine using a specific translation. Let's use an example: Luke 17:21 - In the KJV it says that "the kingdom of God is within you" while nearly all modern translations says "the kingdom of God is in your midst". This latter translation was deliberately done (through the wisdom of man - which is the enemy of God) and it is not what the 'original' Greek texts says. If you cannot see (understand) that the kingdom of God is 'inside' you, then pray that the Holy Spirit through Christ reveals this to you.

We are NOT blessed with all of the english translations. Publishing companies have to change at least 10% of the scripture compared to any other copyrighted version out there to make a legal publication they can sell. This kind of ignorance is putting many "supposed" Bibles into the hands of unknowing believers. We have had over 1000 and we do not need any more. But lets not forget, every time I communicate with someone about this issue and make my first point, I'm labeled a legalist and I automatically lose the argument. You did that for me before I could even comment. I do understand Jesus' message is what really matters. However, we should still try to make sure we have a true Bible shouldn't we? If we start saying that we do not need to be redeemed with Jesus' blood or that we do not need to believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God during the Baptism ceremony, then I think we are on a very slippery slope.

D JESUS CHRIST IS A JEHOVAH'S WITNESS Even a Christian cannot brush aside the worship of Jehovah as God. In Revelation 1:5 the Son of God called himself "'Jesus Christ, 'The Faithful Witness.'" When on earth as a man he was a Jew, an Israelite, to whose words of Isaiah 43:10 were written: "'You are my witnesses, is the utterance of Jehovah, 'even my servant whom I have chosen.'" Jesus demonstrated that he was a faithful and true witness of Jehovah God. His genuine witnesses today must be the same kind of witnesses, Jehovah's. Matt. Those, not of the same faith as Christ Jesus, have placed themselves in Satan's camp.---Matt. 4:10.

So what your saying is to just pick a bible that fits your life style, this is very dangerous for you to tell people to do that, You are wasting a great opportunity to tell the world and the church that for the english speaking people that the KJV is the only record of GODs word we have you know this is true but lets not offend anyone i mean you have a business to run right, this is the sad truth and i feel sorry for you by this i know your not called of God. Remember we will all stand before GOD to give an account one day. We cant have a church if we don’t have the Spirit breathed Word of GOD and a preacher working the will of God, Why is the world in such a dilapidated state you can answer this. I am disappointed in you right now, people are looking for a Word from GOD for guidance and comfort amidst all the turmoil going on in the world some like myself may look to folks like you for food for thought but will go away feeling hungry inside this to me is so sad. Some translations, they leave out scriptures, and the Bible says do not add to the Word, nor take away from the Word. NIV takes away or change the meaning of the scriptures. U use The New King James version, that takes the Old English words, like thou, those, and thee and translate it in modern day English, which makes it easier to read. New King James version does not leave out scriptures or change the meaning of the word ❤✝🇺🇸
