In Hawaii, the people use the term " The Houseless." As a local girl, sometimes I slip up and say homeless, which agitates the public crowd who are advocates on traditional living (caves, trees, etc.)

A common term in social work is “people experiencing homelessness.” Reflecting person-first language. I think it is important to use vocab that affirms human dignity. The label “homeless” has a very negative connotation which often affects people’s self-worth way more than you may think.

This corruption of California homelessness is ridiculousness. In pennsylvania, where I was from, You never see homeless people in our small cities because of the price of house. Apartments can be as low as $450 a month, not including the rent control apartments we have that have been stuck at $160, Maybe in Philly or pittsburgh youll see 10-12, but the number isn't close to LA simply because of the support PA offers to the homeless people
