Thanks for the video, it is always so hard to decide which class YOU wanna play with current overwhelming meta in community. I have CP 500 High Elf Sorcerer but I got really bored of it and tired of overall min/maxing meta builds and classes and decided to focus on chill exploration and story completion this time, so my final choice was stamina Nord Warden. Probably not the best class/race combo and I doubt there will be lines of people inviting me in Trials (though I never even managed to get it one through my 800 hours in the game anyway) but I think in the end it's not really about builds, damage, pvp or loot for me specifically. Right now I think that ESO is a very story driven mmo with fully voiced dialogues, amazing lore and memorable recurring characters so I don't want to rush through it like I did with my fully pre raid BiS Sorc with perfected Malestorm Inferno Staff and gold Mother's Sorrow set. And to any new player who might be reading through this wall of text, my advice for you - pick the race, class, alliance that resonates with you the most. Don't deprive yourself of making this journey through this game your personal expirience, in the end it's you who gonna watch at your character for hundreds of hours, so might as well choose who you wanna be, it's a RPG after all, you don't have to do everything by the book it's about having fun and positive vibes. Dopamine rush from some rare loot drop is temporary, good memories are all that matters 💚
@belorianuskane19523 жыл бұрын
This. Going for the min-max BiS overlord who beats gods, demons and anything in between into submission is fine for sure. It's part of the game afterall and may be necesarry for some content. But don't get lost in it, don't make chasing the UBER-meta the only goal. We all need the chill and sometimes stupidfun-skilled chars to just bumble around from time to time xD

@@LuckyGhost Dude I'm so confused on what to play. I don't know if you'll see this or not but can you please please help me out here? My friend wants me to play with him but I can't seem to find the right pick even though I have my character already in mind. I want my character to be a blade weilding warlock type sage/warrior character. I want to use heavy blades and magic abilities, I really really dislike summoning. I like the warden for the forestry healing and frost abilities but I hate the summoning. I like Sorcerer storm and dark magic a lot but I still love heavy blades and that might clash with the class. I dislike Sorcerer summoning. I don't really like Necromancer as it's basically a undead summoning class. I love Templar stamina but I hear it's not good unfortunately. I don't really like the stealth play style. I'd like to deal decent damage, have some supportive abilities to increase survival for me and teammates and I'd like to be decently tanks. I wish I could use warden healing and ice combined with some Templar and Sorcerer storm attacks. So far my closest picks are Templar, Sorcerer or Warden. It seems like everything I want to do clashes in this game. Like I can't achieve the play style I want at all. Can you help me please? Thank you!

@IcequeenNarzissa2 жыл бұрын
I think the nightblade is the hardest class to master… I tried all except necro, and I struggled the most to get damage out of it, it has a pretty complicated rotation, due to two buffs that need to be always active (Leeching Strikes and Relentless Focus, which also needs to be reapplied crazy often due to the morph into a spectral bow after 4 light attacks), a couple of Dots, etc. But once you get the hang on it, you do great - whether solo, in PvE or PvP. Templar is easy mode, Sorcerer with Pets is also pretty beginner friendly because they tank for you and heal you (which your shadow doesn‘t as a Nightblade), Warden seems to be in the middle, Dragonknight is harder than the first two but still a shitton easier than nightblade. Never tried Necro but I heard the rotation is also notorious. I also used „the wrong skills“ as a Beginner - I never had any buffs or debuffs just 5 different spammables, and no back bar, which is pretty useless. :D Bet a lot of people skilled like this as a beginner.

I started with nightblades, as I always prefer rogue characters in these styles of games. Eventually made a magblade tank and it proved quite effective and a ton of fun. Just recently decided to make a healer and you're right--it's super fun and very unique. It is a lot harder than even my dk healer (which was my first healer and capable in any vet I've done), but has been effective in a few vets so far. For some reason, I just can't get away from NBs. On other classes, I'm always thinking, "I could do this at least as well on my nightblade, and I'd have the speed from Path, too..."

As someone who followed your stuff as a new player which was only a month ago I do think it would have been good to get a little bit into the stamina versus magic aversions of the classes as they can play very very different. The stamina versus magic aversions tend to make ESO have more classes than it has on paper.
@LuckyGhost3 жыл бұрын
Fair point! I was going for more of a thematic approach on this video and giving new players an idea of the strengths and weaknesses of the classes as a whole, so they can see if they vibe with the aesthetic, and if that class is good at a role they enjoy playing :) but I could turn this into a 2 hour video if people would watch XD
@garrick37273 жыл бұрын
This was good, but it was strange having everything being S or A. I understand what you are going for - there is not a lot of difference between classes, particularly for DPS. Also, another interesting category besides Tank, Healer and DPS would be a rating for Solo play. Once again, there is not much in it. I would rate solo as: (S) Nightblade, Sorcerer - because they have skills that passively heal you, meaning you do not use a lot of resources on healing (A+) Templar - magicka Templar is closer to S due to jabs healing you (A) Necro, Warden (A-) Dragonknight - due to a general lack of healing Of course, if you get the mythic item, The Ring of the Pale Order, every class can passively heal so there is not much in it. In fact, the DK moves from the bottom to the top with that ring because it has greats DOTs, great AOE, great Ultimates, great sustain - all it was lacking was healing.

Hello Lucky, thanks for the video! After watching your class videos I decided to go with an Argonian Magica Necro for my first, but I had a question. I see a lack of new player guides that aren't "tips" sort of setups. Videos about where to get starter gear, how many skill points you end up getting, how to balance adventure skills and crafting skills, where to start good beginner quests and so on. My biggest question right now is after finishing the tutorial area, should I stay in Solitude or should I go to the factions "starter area"? All these guides seem to assume that people just have piles of gear in banks and hundreds of champ points, but not many videos about "so you are starting fresh" sort of videos. Also, +1 sub. Thanks!
@MrLibelious3 жыл бұрын
The beauty of eso is that it doesnt really matter :P so you can decide if you want to go with the main story, zone stories (marked with black quest icons) or just explore! It can be overwhelming with so many options when you´re new, but personally i really enjoyed going from zone to zone, exploring the world while doing zone stories, whiles i also get more familiar with the combat while also solving puzzles in quests etc
@neiska253 жыл бұрын
@@MrLibelious - thank you for the reply! I just dont want to do something like dip too far into crafting and accidentally gimp my combat abilities and so on. There arent any videos about that far as I can tell, or do people have a "crafting character" or sorts for their accounts?
@MrLibelious3 жыл бұрын
Many have a crafting character, but for eso you dont have to overthink things, because if you use your skill points «wrong» dont worry, because you can easily respec you character and be refunded your skill points so you can put them where you need them, so since you’re new my best tip is just explore, try things out and dont worry about being «perfect», and about the skillpoints on my main, i currently have all crafting skills maxed in addition to having all the combat abilities and passives i need for a «meta build»
@LuckyGhost3 жыл бұрын
You will end up with more skill points than you need. So prioritize your skills and passives and throw the extra into crafting :) where should you go? The answer is - where do you want to go! As for gear - all of my build guides tell you were to get the gear you will wear. Grab that gear any time. But definitely make sure to get a max level set after you hit 160
@Filthyanimal93 жыл бұрын
Gear is irrelevant until you hit level 50, so don’t worry about gear til then (just keep putting on new gear you find so that your gear is semi-close to your level. Also, as others said, experiment with different skills and if nothing grabs you put a point into a crafting skill. Fortunately you can buy anything that could be crafted so I wouldn’t worry about that till you’ve played the game awhile. Good luck!

I think it's cool that all classes are viable in doing any role, it's just that some do certain builds better than others which people looking to min/max only care about. As a Redguard sorcerer, I've decided to spec into the Stamina tree to help play the strengths of the race chosen, which race can help to improve the play style you wish to run with, like having an Argonian being you Nightblade Healer. But honestly the best thing about this game is you can make anything work if you construct your character correctly. This video simply helps supporting that statement whilst also helping those looking to get the best out of what they want to do in ESO.

I'm actually liking these vids you've been producing man, some of that liking might just be from how much I liked Kevduit's eso vids but apart from that you got some pretty interesting content and these rankings are pretty close to the ones I'd give each class. Although my rankings for the tank classes other then the dragonknight, warden, and nightblade would be pretty prejudice since I've never made a tank outside of those three options.

Perfect timing. Just came back to ESO a couple days ago. Was completely out of the loop, I stopped playing before even Morrowind was out. Totally clueless which expansions to play, and which classes and races to combine. Your videos have helped a ton, much appreciated! One question: my original characters were mostly "classic" combos (High Elf Templar, Breton Sorcerer, Khajit and Redguard Nightblade). Which race would you suggest for each faction for Warden and Necromancer? Magicka or Stamina? I'm thinking Orc Warden (Stam), High Elf Necro (Mag), Dunmer Necro (both), would those be good combos?
@slymz21413 жыл бұрын
Well the new race changes coming make all 3 of those races good for any roll. Orca are getting spell damage with weapon damage and so is high elf. Cant remember whats changing for dark elf though. So you can basically do what you want with them.

literally love everything you picked. wouldnt change any of em!

@@LuckyGhost Thanks mate! Just watched a few more of your videos, your compilation of addons should be a tutorial / must watch for every (new or returning) player. The map and UI addons... I'll never play without those again!! One more question: I'm a rather casual player, but I've saved up just enough gold to buy a medium size house. Which one offers good value in your opinion? Several people have suggested I should pick "Velothi Reverie", would that be a decent choice?

It saddens me that this game has amazing quests, an amazing world, good story and lore, but absolutely atrocious combat and in my opinion very uninteresting classes. As much as I want to get into this game I just can't bring myself to enjoy playing the classes. I have tried almost every class (base ones) to levels 20-40 and have yet to have fun with the gameplay. I really enjoy the stories though, and I really enjoy the lore and the world.

yup. the abilities look different but playstyle wise the classes are very similar

Classes used to have a lot more character in the past, but ZoS has been streamlining all skill for the sake of balance. Now they're mostly the same skills with different animations.

My fighting style is being a damage and healer. I do combols. A mix between healing and the switch to damage. I found useing staffs really helps to do that.

Exactly what I was looking for, trying to get into ESO, and as someone who loves playing Healers, I smh fell in love with the idea of a Sorc Healer, although Templar and Warden seem like the much better choices, I love going for off-Meta builds, but I also don't want to end up useless or get kicked from groups, really hard decision D:

You won't get kicked from groups. Sorcerers are still good healers! Play it 🙂

@@zenwilds2911 Thank you, I've created two Characters now, a Breton Templar and a High Elf Sorcerer. Planning to switch between the two to see which one appeals more to me in the end, worst case I'll end up maxing both :3

@@Zekkiira Champion points are shared account wide so other than obtaining the gear... having multiple characters is totally viable in ESO :) Even if a lead drops on your alt, you can Scry for it on whichever character you will make your Scryer 👌 Currencies gained via PvP etc can also be placed in your bank, which is account wide. And the more characters you have at level 50, the more quick and easy $ you'll gain from the daily crafting quests. The rewards scale up based on character level

Warden is perfect for me, not only because of the fact that in group content I prefer to tank or heal, but also because I'm a bit of an ASS 🤣 I saw your channel before I even started playing about 3 months ago. I now have an Argonian Warden who is cp410, been working his tail off. I can tank or heal any time a group asks, and I actually love Argonians not just for the lore, but their sustain helps a lot! Especially when I'm just grinding cp and want to use 1g potions for some free stamina and health lol.

Opinions on stamsorc? I made one a little bit ago and id like feedback from those who know more about it. Is it good for harder things in the game? Is it a class that people put on their roster for trials and what not? Any feedback is appreciated :)
