I read Singapore kept most of the old British legal system that was in place during the British Empire days, and have never changed it much. Eg. still have corporal (lashes with birch) and capital punishment. Meanwhile London and Britain became more and more liberal abolishing many of the old tough laws regarding drugs etc, over the last few decades. Now contrast the two cities. Singapore has one of the best quality of life in the world, and lowest crime. meanwhile London has become increasingly violent and dangerous.

Si la población local no quiere hablarte en tu mismo idioma (o no sabe hablarlo), hay que respetarlo (más sabiendo en este caso que el francés es un idioma útil, así que tampoco pasa nada por aprender algunas oraciones para poder comunicarse en el país). No todo el mundo sabe hablar inglés y si se va a un país donde el inglés no es el idioma utilizado por la población (como en el caso de Francia), la realidad es que la mayoría de la población no va a poder comunicarse contigo en este idioma. The name is taken from a malay words, and we know malay is largely sanskrits influenced considering indianization history of southeast asia. Doesnt make the people an "indian" by default, we're only part of indosphere culture. The indonesia name is literally "indian islands" yet they all happened to not like india for their own reason and they had a quote being a muslim doesnt make you arab, believing in judaism doesnt make you an israeli, believing in christian doesnt make you european, being hindu/buddhist doesnt make you indian. Thats like saying vietnamese are chinese when they are literally trying to break free from chinese influences. I already see indian singaporean saying they do not like India in my local area over politics and cultural differences.

whos going to tell this guy, the southeast asians only took influences from their cultures and takes their religions. Therefore, the indians never came to control or rule the land of austronesians and austroasiatics as a nations when they never really has the desire to, and when indians immigrations are pretty much as recent as the chinese immigrations. Which another reason why most austronesians decided to take influences from the arabs/persian and their religion and at the same time keeping the hindu/buddhist influences in their cultures, neither of them conquered the southeast asia and only spreads the influences by trading and merchant. The southeast asians are pretty much diverged into their own identity, not as "indian" not as "arab" not as "chinese", they are Singaporean.
