This is the first, and until now, only video really relevant to what I was looking for. Indeed high declination angle will help with head posture, yet you have to take into consideration the ergonomics for the eye posture as well, since looking very much downward all the time will put elevated strain on the orbicular muscles. You suggest at least 40°, which is still fine for eye posture, from an article I've read about the issue (they suggested even up to 60°, with the sweet spot around 50°, not dental related though but that doesn't make much difference). This is why I designed and 3D printed a 50° declination mount for my loupes, and will hopefully get to actually build the damn thing attached to a headgear instead of keeping working on tens of different unrelated projects. Silly me.

Everyone ard me is getting ttl and ppl are even advising me to get ttl. I was actually considering flip ups because it more versatile. But at the moment I’m very unsure...

This is a great video. I'm not able to find the video "Ergonimic Guidelines for Dental Loupe selection" you mention. Maybe it's not out yet. I'm using new loupes for about 6 months and I'm having a lot of neck pain. I'd love to see how you suggest measuring the declination angle. Thanks for the great video!

Thanks for such a nice video. Ergonomically would the head band mounted flip up loupes will be the best option? I'm looking for loupes mostly for ergonomic purpose. Sincerely, an orthodontist with cervical pain

The key with flip-up loupes is that the scopes must sit very low in relation to your pupils in order to utilize the steep declination angle. Many headband mounted flip-ups I have evaluated do not sit low enough, causing excessive neck flexion. I've just seen a video of some loupes with new tech, Lumadent Ergoprism loupes. But they are only available in US till now... Check them out on internet and buy them if possible in any way. ( Though I haven't used them or recommend them nor do I promote any brand... I'm just a Dentistry student...thought I can guide and help you in some way).🙂

Lumadent ergoprism are similar to the Pentax loupes , I'm interested in the latter because the flip-on design seems to me being more versatile.
