I also bag a DD1 and an Enigma and my buddy has a Paradigm I've thrown, and I too have lil baby hands. I can definitely vouch for most of what you said in the vid, I love the DD1 and find I get more consistency with it, but it's more overstable than my Enigma. While I can definitely push the Enigma for farther distance, I tend to have more misreleases with it compared to the DD1. Paradigm felt really nice too but I never seemed to get a good throw with it.

I think there's a lot to be said about how consistent you can be with a particular disc. It's nice to have that bomber option for big tailwinds, but hitting the angle just right can be a challenge in other conditions. Based on this video, I think it is fair to say that AMs could find a use for all 3, but the DD1 definitely seems like the workhorse driver to me out of the bunch!

I have a DD1, and I like it a lot, have not thrown the Paradigm. Keep a base and Premium Mentor in the bag. I love the flat topped ones in base plastic. Have a S Line DD3 as well have yet to throw it...still winter in France. Keeping the Jokeri in your bag ? Have you tried the Respecti yet ?

I thought for the longest time that a wraith (11 speed)was more than enough for me. Recently I added a pro shryke for wide open bomber shots. I have no business throwing a 13 speed disc but I can get 20-30 ft more distance over my wraiths with less effort if there are no limitations on left to right movement. I think one flippy max distance type disc is necessary in everyone’s bag and that disc isn’t necessarily 12+ speed. For those comfortable up to say 7 speed, a 9 speed flippy disc might fill that slot.

You know I'm always good for some DM feedback 😅 I haven't thrown the DD1 yet, I'm already happy with my Wraiths and I'm waiting for the stock release. I've tested the Paradigm on a couple courses now, and I love it for the hand feel and for extra long turnover shots my Essence or forehand can't reach. I think your evaluation of the Enigma is spot on, with one notable caveat - like the Essence, the Enigma is available in a range of plastics that noticeably affect its flight. Here's the stability of Enigma plastics from most to least stable for an Int/Adv level player with a max distance of about 400': - Forge Enigma - Mystery Box Neo Enigma(Smoky Grey or Mint Green color runs) - Stock Neo - Vapor Lux And I recently learned that a limited run have been produced in Lumen Neo plastic and are hyzerflip dreams to match the Lux Vapors 😉

@@ApolloDiscGolf We're already one list in, what's the harm in one more? 😂 In order from most to least available: - Stock Neo( No surprises there lol. $18.99) - Vapor Lux (featured in '20 and '22 MB, $25+ apiece) - Mint Green MB Run ( Lots of boxes in '21 and not nearly enough people throwing Enigmas, as low as $15) - Smoky Grey Run(also from '20 boxes, easier to lose, more collectible, $25+) - Forge (actually a collector disc, only run of this plastic done for the canceled 2019 Euro Open. No less than $50 each by now)

I bag a DD1 and Paradigm and feel like the two of them work well for my arm speed. I would say I will use a Paradigm when I have a more open shot and the DD1 when I need to be more precise. I haven't bagged the Enigma do to it feeling like it needs more power than the other two. All are great but I'm a Paradigm and DD1 fan. I just wish DD1 was out to buy because I would have bought two mystery boxes if I would have known. Also if one needs a little slower speed disc to get some distance, I would recommend the Essence even though its a fairway driver it has that 6 glide to help get some distance. Essence 8 6 -2 1

I bag a proto Hades for my "bomber" disc, throw a GStar Krait and a somewhat season Enigma as well. The Enigma was fairly overstable for me at first, but it's become a little more "workable" of late. Should I give the DD1 a shot? They are quite pricey right now!

I think the DD1 is a very good disc for a go-to control distance driver if you throw around 400ft or less. But I don't usually like to pay collector prices just for throwers... So I think it might be worth giving them a try once they eventually come out as stock runs.

I stop getting consistent distance after 9 speeds pretty much. I can throw a Stag on a comfortable hyzer flip line 350ft and my 12 speeds I can throw about 340ft, lol.

Yeah the DD1 is solid! All this other stuff coming out in Horizon plastic being super beefy is making me nervous though... If these Horizon DD1's are the beefy ones... I don't know if I will like the stock ones as much... I was hoping this one was normal and the C-Lines or something will be more stable to be able to cycle nicely!

@@ApolloDiscGolf The reason I bag 2 is that one of them is noticeably more stable than the other, i bag a Black rim yellow center which is the stable one and a purple rim white center which is more flippy. I'm sure people with a faster arm speed would say both are pretty flippy tho. But yes i have been thinking the same with stock runs might end up really flippy.

At this point I have given up on flight numbers. It seems like any disc with the same diameter rim from Innova is 1 speed lower then Trilogy. I just know I like discs that have a rim diameter less then 2.3.

Yeah this is why I don't really talk about numbers and measurements... All that matters is how it feels in your hand and how it flies. Those are good to look at if you can't throw or feel them, they are good guidelines, but at the end of the day each disc from each run flies a little different and all feel different!

Love that you did a review on all three of these, I bag only almost all discmania so I would consider myself a discmaniac. I actually bag all 3 of them, I lost my proto Honey and got the paradigm. Since it is new it is obviously slightly stable and it like an enigma. But my enigma is slightly understable ior straight flyer(Lux Vapor Enigma MB Version).

I've been thinking about picking up the Enigma and Paradigm for so long, but not sure what I would use them for. My noodle arm became faster this past year. The new S-Line line up with DD3 and FD is straight enough for me for long gap hits. But for beginners, YES absolutely pick all these up (except maybe for the DD1 since its exclusive).

I can't really throw any of them at this point, but the Enigmas are definitely "more" disc than the other two. It's a pretty beefy disc for me and my bad form and noodle arm. In most scenarios, my furthest disc is going to be my VIP Hatchet on a hyzer flip, so I firmly believe in throwing the discs you throw best, regardless of what anybody says.

You might be confusing “ams” with “beginners” ams goes all the way up through MA1/Advanced. But I should have clarified… I was mainly referring to intermediate/advanced players that throw anywhere between 350’-400’. Like the ones who think they can throw Destroyers but really something like a Wraith would fit better! That’s where a lot of Discmania players would say the Enigma!

I have seen multiple people saying this... If you look at them next to each other they are very different 😂 DD1 has a much more comfortable rim and is slightly slower and easier to throw! The Enigma has a massive rim compared to the DD1!
