Since Poland was partitioned between three empires, you'd have to check where a certain player was born, to assign him to a proper imperial national team. Born in Warsaw? Imperial Russia. Born in Kraków? Austro-Hungarian Empire. Born in Poznań? German Empire.
@theultumateprezes6379 Жыл бұрын
Lewandowski- Warsaw, Russian Empire Szczęsny- Warsaw, Russian Empire Cash- obviously born outside of Poland, but his Polish grandparents were born in Stanisławów (or as Ukrainians would have it, Ivano-Frankivsk) and Brańsk. Stanisławów belonged to Austria and Brańsk belonged to Russia. Bednarek- Słupca, Russian Empire Kiwior- Tychy, German Empire Krychowiak- Gryfice, German Empire Zieliński- Ząbkowice Śląskie, German Empire (rather funnily the town was called Frankenstein by the Germans) Milik- Tychy, German Empire So overall, out of 8 Polish players featured in this 11, 4 could be claimed by the German Empire, 3 by the Russian Empire, while Matty Cash would unfortunately need to be split in half between the Russian and the Austrian empires.

I really enjoyed this. It does put a perspective on how things could have been vastly different for international football if a battle here or a war there went the other way. How would the borders be drawn and what nations would get immigrants from their colonies who’s kids were then eligible to play for them if they had kept or gained parcels or land from around the world

Posting for the 6th time: I created an all-time XI with no overlap of international careers - no player was active for their national team at the same time as any other player. Here it is (with the years of each player's international career listed in parentheses): 🇩🇪 Oliver Kahn (1995 - 2006) 🇩🇪 Manfred Kaltz (1975 - 1983), 🏴 Bob Crompton (1902 - 1914), 🇧🇷 Thiago Silva (2008 - ), 🇩🇪 Andreas Brehme (1984 - 1994) 🇺🇾 José Leandro Andrade (1923 - 1930), 🇮🇹 Ugo Locatelli (1936 - 1940) 🇮🇹 Valentino Mazzola (1942 - March 1949) 🇧🇷 Pelé (1957 - 1971), 🇧🇷 Neco (1917 - 1922), 🇭🇺 Zoltán Czibor (May 1949 - 1956) Manager: 🇨🇿 Karel Petrů (1931 - 1935) If you choose to ignore the position of manager, Ugo Locatelli can be replaced in midfield by 🇦🇷 Antonio Sastre (1933 - 1941). How about making a video featuring an XI you created using this limitation (and without using uncapped players)?

Thank you very much for the video you posted, Alfie. Some notas bene to the video from the Russian side. Krychowiak, Bednarek, Zieliński and Milik couldn't have represented the Russian Empire national team at the international level as these football players were born outside the Privislinski Krai (Polish Tsardom, Congressional Poland). They could rather have represented the German Empire national team, as they could have been the German Empire subjects, not the Russian Empire. They could have applied the Russian Empire's subject status, if Polish parts (Ostpreußen, Westpreußen, Schlesien, Pommern, Posen, and Ost-Brandenburg) of the German Empire had become a part of the Russian Empire. There are only two Polish players who might have represented the Russian Empire at the international level - Wojciech Szczęsny who was born in Warsaw (Gubernia Warszawska) and Robert Lewandowski who was born in Warsaw (Gubernia Warszawska) as well. Matty Cash could theoretically have become a Russian international player due to his decent from Stanislavov (now Ivano-Frankovsk) that had been part of the Russian Empire for short time during the World War I. Here's my Russian Empire's starting XI / subs. In parentheses the birthplace of players as if in the Russian Imperial Style. GK: Andrey Lunin (Konstantingrad, Konstantingrad Uyezd, Poltava Governorate) / Wojciech Szczęsny (Warszawa, Warszawa Powiat, Warszawa Governorate) / Igor Akinfeev (Moscow, Moscow Uyezd, Moscow Governorate) RB: Mário Fernandes / Matty Cash (descent from Stanislavov, Stanislavov Uyezd, Tarnopol Governorate) CB: Igor Diveyev (Ufa, Ufa Uyezd, Ufa Governorate) / UPD: Brian Idowu (St. Petersburg, St. Petersburg Uyezd, St. Petesburg Governorate) CB: Dmitri Chistyakov (Pikalyovo, Tikhvin Uyezd, Novgorod Governorate) / Ragnar Klavan (Fellin, Fellin Kreis, Livonia Governorate) LB: Aleksandr Zinchenko (Radomyshl, Radomyshl Uyezd, Kiev Governorate) DM: Daler Kuzyaev (Elabuga, Elabuga Uyezd, Vyatka Governorate) CM: Aleksandr Golovin (Kaltan, Kuznetsk Uyezd, Tomsk Governorate) CM: Arsen Zakharyan (Samara, Samara Uyezd, Samara Governorate) RW: Mikhail Mudrik (Konstantingrad, Konstantingrad Uyezd, Poltava Governorate) / Genrikh Mkhitaryan (Erivan, Erivan Uyezd, Erivan Governorate) AM: Aleksei Miranchuk (Slavyanskaya Stanitsa, Temryuk Otdel, Kuban Oblast) LW: Khvicha Kvaratskelia (Tiflis, Tiflis Uyezd, Tiflis Governorate) FW: Robert Lewandowski (Warszawa, Warszawa Powiat, Warszawa Governorate) / Eldor Shomurodov (Jarkurgan, Osh Uyezd, Fergana Governorate). a documentary on the afc Wimbledon on the nine promotions in eleven years, how they’re a fan own club and how they have a stadium in plough lane now. The story of they lost the club, how the F A allowed that and won’t allow that anymore. How they were very close to moving to ireland How they went up the English football leagues. It would be a good documentary video if you can do this. #thepeopleschannel

You noted how England's current XI is strengthened by its colonial past, but what about France? I think about half their current squad is of French colonial descent.

Best German players in the premier league of all time. (Day 479) I will not give up until the video is made or Alfie himself tells me to stop. Everyone else telling me that will be ignored. If you don't believe my number, just go back to the previous videos. I'm at the bottom most of the time, but I'm there.

You should've included the Austrian Empire I think it would be a good addition to this video

The HRE was the first thing I thought of for being way OP indeed, with also De Bruyne, Van Dijk, Courtois, Alaba, but Germany, Switzerland, Czechia and large parts of Italy, France and Poland too. I think it could easily rival the 1st and 3rd empires.

Still hoping for that Austrian Wunderteam video 😇✌. btw, kinda interesting that you would start Cancelo who wasn't able to be a regular starter at ManCity and also not at Bayern now. Not even gonna comment much on Kane, brutally overrated in England and probably a bit underrated outside of it :D.

Mistake to put Portuguese players on Spanish empire team. Instead I would put Araujo as RB and Balde as LB. And no way Valverde would make starting XI instead of Pedri😂

There was a time called the Iberian Union from 1580 and 1640, when the Portuguese and Spanish empires joined together. An Iberian Union team could challenge the Roman Empire one
@GlodelaniaChannel Жыл бұрын
So what if the Roman Empire had a football league. Here are the 20 teams in the first division. 1. FC Barcelona 2. Real Madrid 3. SL Benfica 4. FC Porto 5. Olympique de Marseille 6. Juventus 7. AC Milan 8. Inter Milan 9. Napoli 10. Lazio 11. Manchester United 12. Manchester City 13. Chelsea 14. Arsenal 15. Liverpool 16. Bayern Munich 17. Atlético Madrid 18. Tottenham Hotspur 19. AS Monaco 20. Real Sociedad and for the second division, I'll let everyone decide it. Note: Team's home stadium should be situated in a land that is formally part of the empire.
