I actually laughed out loud for the old woman with the cheese, especially the way she said it🤣 Very interesting and funny overall Also in South African Afrikaans culture we have this tradition for "vrugtekoek" (EN: fruit cake / NL: "fruit taart") around Christmas time and, man, you need an angle grinder to cut a piece off and then it tastes as if it is last year's cake nobody wanted 🤣

Ik heb een hekel voor kaas, kan ik niet parmigiano zien en ik kom uit Italië, zo je kan voorstellen wat vrienden en familie over mij denken. 😆 Ik houd van chocolade en focaccia, die miss ik veel als ik in buitenlands ben. I’ m sure I made mistakes in my sentences, but I’m too tired to check and reread. 😅

Je doet het toch vrij goed voor iemand wiens moedertaal niet Nederlands is. Het is wel 'ik heb een hekel aan' en niet 'voor'. Zelf ben ik gek van alles wat de Italiaanse keuken te bieden heeft, dus ook Parmezaanse kaas. Ik kom uit België en ik denk dat zowat elke Belg houdt van chocolade. Belgische chocolade is dan ook de beste ter wereld. Groetjes.

Ik ben nu in een heel kleine dorpje, dus er zit geen italiaanse restaurant, maar geen zorgen, om september ga ik terug Italië en ik zal alle focaccia eten dat ik wil. 😆 Natuurlijk, ik kon een focaccia bakken, maar het is een lange ding te doen en ik ben niet zo geduldig.

Ik vind witlof met ham en kass wel lekker. Ik vind patat met mayonese vies omdat er te vel vet is. Gewoone drop is goed maar niet dubblezout.

South African "drop" (liquorice) is very good, but I think it isn't the same thing entirely as European liquorice. Maybe one day I'll come visit and bring a big bag of South African Beacon's Liquorice Allsorts for Dutchie friends to taste... I think they will find it much different.

"Lus" is eigenlijk "lust", tweede persoon enkelvoud van de onvoltooid tegenwoordige tijd van het werkwoord "lusten", wat "lekker vinden om te eten" betekent.

Een van de weinige dingen die ik niet eten kan is "tripe" of "menudo" (zoals het heet in Californische restauranten). Het is de binnenkant van een koeienmaag, Ik heb het een keer geprobeerd (je moet alles een keer proberen toch...?) en dat kwam in een acceptabel room sausje, maar het was net of je in een kluit snot hapte. Ongelooflijk goor. Echt iets om te vermijden!🤮

Mensen denken veels te beperkt. Wat echt lekker is is boterhamworst en veel producten van Almhof dat is wel typisch Nederlands. En ook kipfilet is lekker en dat is dan ook meestal in Nederland gemaakt.

Ik heb en keer "Natto" gegeten - een japanse gericht (gefermente soja boonjtes). Het was lelijk, het rookt fuil and het smaakte zoals heel erg. Ik vind dat spruitjes heel lekker is. Zelf als en kind. ^^;

Ik ben Turks. Ik heb jaren in Nederland gewoond. Ik heb stamppot, haring, witloof enz. geprobeerd en ik vind ze allemaal lekker. Ik begrijp niet waarom ze de Stampot niet lekker vonden. Maar misschien heb je gelijk over de Escargot. Meestal gaf ik het op en liet het weer in de kast liggen net toen ik het in de supermarkt ging kopen. En ik kan niet leven zonder courgette, aubergine & olijven. Man!🤦🏻‍♂️ De naam van het Turkse gerecht waar de jongeman het over had, zou Kokoreç kunnen zijn. Ik hou van kokoreç.

Hete bliksem is typisch Nederlands, dat hebben wij in België niet. Jullie eten wel vaak van die hutsepotten, wordt dat dan gemaakt met restjes van de dagen ervoor? Is dat omdat het goedkoop is, want smakelijk ziet het er alleszins niet uit.

@@Brad_Pittstop Hutspot is niet gemaakt van restjes. De basis voor een hutspot is aardappelpuree. Daar wordt dan gekookte groente door gemixt. BV boerenkool of andijvie. Dan wordt er een stuk gerookte (nederlandse) worst opgelegd en het geheel wordt overgoten met een jus. Je kan de andijvie er ook ongekookt aan toevoegen voor een meer "crisp" ervaring. Boerenkool zoals mijn vrouw die maakt hier in Australië is mijn favoriet.

Voor frieten moet je sowieso in België zijn. Een friet met stoofvleessaus, mayonaise, satékruiden en een gebakken cervela. Lekker man, niks mis mee.

In België neem ik altijd Nederlandse mayonaise mee. Dat zure spul is niks voor mij. Bij de patatjes zelf proef ik geen verschil.
