Important note about Xenoblade X: when I talk about the game's gameplay, I mention that "tutorials are kept to a minimum". While this is true as far as the game itself goes, the electronic manual for it that can be accessed from the Wii U home screen explains the game pretty well.

Xenoblade 3 seems to be taking over as episode 5 of the new version of Perfect Works, which was equivalent to Xenogears, that would make Xenoblade 2 episode 4 and Torna episode 3, with Xenoblade DE/Future Connected serving as a new episode between 3 and 4 set in the imaginary domain, this means that if X is part of the story at all it likely is either 1 or 6, as 2 would specifically be about Klaus. So all in all, X is not really necessary until we know IF it even relates to the other games directly, but DE, FC, XC2 and Torna are all required.

Yea, all we know for sure is that the latter four games you mentioned all directly relate to XC3. Xenoblade relating to Xenogears seems to be more of a theory than anything, and it's unconventional for the vast majority of people to experience, so I left it out of this video. It's good to note though

Id play xenogears (as i am doing currently) it and xenoblade 3 seem to share some themes from what we've seen so far so maybe you'd pick up on some more subtle stuff in it idk. Just play xenogears you dont need a reason

I second this. For example, Xenogears was originally named "Project Noah," XC3's protag is named Noah) and in gears there was a conflict between the countries "Aveh" and "Kislev," and in XC3 there are two nations named Agnus and Keves. It makes you wonder if there are any connections or if Takahashi is pulling our legs.
