Hey, Sidney! You did a very nice comparison of the products, especially with the selfy mode shots. For a long time I want to test some of them, but I am not exactly sure which one do I actually need for my camera setup. I use Panasonic GH5 with mostly native lenses and I am planing to use it with Sigma 18-35 with metabones adapter. Which one do you think would serve better my needs, because I am really confused and those gimbals are not easy to find in my country? Also could you help me with some contacts to Zhiyun I could use for requesting a product for review? Greetings from Bulgaria! :)
@SidneyDiongzon
@SidneyDiongzon 6 жыл бұрын
For gimbals, the lighter the setup the better. The Sigma 18-35 is pretty heavy, so the only gimbal to handle it is the Crane 2. Otherwise, the native lenses might be a better fit for you

Well, I ordered the Zhiyun Crane Plus and will return it. Why? I realized too late (my fault) that for full function I would require a Panasonic or Sony camera. I need the control panel function of the Gimbal and this is simply not working with Fuji or Nikon (or Canon). Be aware of this before you buy. If you don't need the control panel then this is not an issue.

So Would you recommend a Moza Air Gimbal or a Crane V@ for a Canon 60D? Basic setup (18-135mm lens or 50mm lens) Ive never used a gimbal before. I have someone selling a Moza for $400 and the V2 for $250.

Sidney Diongzon For sure! The tripod that comes with the V2 is a bit cheaper though. Feels like it could hold less weight. Which makes complete sense seeing how the V2 has a lighter max payload.

Hey Sidney, another great video. Two questions: First, if we're on a budget and only shoot with a small mirrorless camera, gopro and galaxy s8+, is the Zhiyun M-3 a pretty good option? Second, what is the music you used in this video for your footage montage? Thanks!
@SidneyDiongzon
@SidneyDiongzon 6 жыл бұрын
Great question! I don’t think the M3 would be strong enough to hold a mirror less camera. I would go with at the very least the Crane v2. Ideally, the Crane Plus for your situation. You want strong motors to handle your gear

Its 11pm, I’m still in my office waiting for a video to upload to ze cloud and this gave me a good chuckle. Sub earned! Thank you sir. As a 6d2 user, I’m thinking of going for the CranePlus over the Crane V2 just because I don’t like how close I’d be getting to that 1.8kg max. For me, the Crane2 is overkill - and I dont like the follow focus wheel because I’m left handed and its in the way. Plus, one more thing to go wrong / get damaged. Cheeeeeers

Hey great video! I was wondering if you knew anything about the Crane 2 having the features that the Crane Plus has?? (Particularly the POV mode and the Nightlapse mode) because the crane 2 looks like the better option for myself as it's able to hold a heavyer payload ect (I'm a Canon user and my main cameras are the 5D Mark IV and the 1D X Mark II). But those features on the Crane Plus are awesome and It'd be great if they are on the Crane 2! So are they? is there a way to recreate them if they aren't?

Thanks, we really needed this comparison/review. Still deciding between Crane 2 and Crane plus. Do you think Sony support for Crane 2 focus control is really coming ? I shoot with A7R3 and A6500.

Can somebody help me please? I want to buy the Crane 2 for my camera but my camera (the nikon d3500) isn't supported by the crane 2. Am I still able to just stabilize my camera with this gimbal? And what features can I not do with my camera?

Great vídeo, with the recent firmware upgrades, is the crane 2 capable of motion track / motion timelapse / cellphone control like the crane plus? Thanks Sid.

I haven't updated the firmware so I'm not sure. I want to say no, but I'll check!

Just a crazy thought here, who can help me: if you were to install the camera on the Zhiyun Crane 2 baseplate 90° counterclockwise so they the right side of the camera now faces the 'front' of the crane, where under normal circumstances the lens would be, would you be technically able to manually adjust the Crane's gimbal motor functionalities and angles so the roll-axis becomes the tilt-axis, and vice versa. (Can you follow?) I've seen that you can manually adjust balancing mechanisms via the smartphone. Would it practically be possible to bypass the system controls to work in this setup? Like that you could use cameras that are wider then 90mm from side to screw point (like BMPCC4K). Thank you in advance!

That's a crazy setup, but I think it's possible as long as you don't use a heavy lens.
