I freaking LOVE and miss Hawaii!😍🥰 I have been to Oahu 1x, Maui 4x. Love both for various reasons. Maui: Maui Pie, Paia Fish Market, Front St, and Paia town. Oahu: the night life, Waikiki Beach, Kai coffee (😍🤪) and the resorts.

I'm having a tough decision between Maui and Oahu for my first time and i'm leading towards Maui just because its beautiful and less people will be there. Which one would you choose for your first time since you've been to both islands?
@sheilanaduriak12694 жыл бұрын
@@whitwhit859 it would depend on if you wanted to rent a vehicle, or even if you can. I don't recall the stipulations on who can or not rent 1. If you can rent a vehicle, then Maui. If not, and you want to bus/walk/cab almost everywhere, then Oahu will be a great option for you. Maui has some night life, but depends, again, on which side of the island you stay on, which town, etc. For me, if you are into the bar/party scene with not many people, then choose either Lahaina or Kehie/Wailea. Waikiki is know for its nightlife, and with Covid, Waikiki might not be so bad because I think a lot is still closed on all the islands, with restrictions still in place. Hope that helps.

Hi Chris! Sorry we missed the live, but you gave great information. Just a couple of quick things. The ferry from Maui to Molokai was discontinued last year due to lack of interest and damage to the reef. The only ferry they run is Maui to Lanai. The Big Island has some very exotic beaches including black sand and green sand beaches and is our favorite of the islands. CVS minute clinics are offering the C-19 tests for people to get cleared prior to travel. Take Care!!

The best thing you can do in Hawaii if your time is limited is to take a one-day circle tour of the Big Island. You can do this as a pacakge from Oahu including flights both ways..

Can't thank you enough for the geography lesson Christopher. Really interesting giving me so much information I never knew. Tonnes of info I'm glad I know now. So surprised regarding the fact you made about beaches for swimming being not so swim friendly. I assumed anywhere would be. You've saved me much disappointment before Ive decided to venture there.

In my area, its really difficult to get a COVID test if you don't have symptoms and and its hard to get the results back within enough time for your trip. The test results take 5-7 days. And to travel to Hawaii without the quarantine, you need negative test results that were taken within 3 days of your trip start date. Because of that I had to cancel my August trip to Hawaii unfortunately.

My husband and I still want to go to Hawaii, but are afraid so many things we wanted to go for, like the outside markets and such would be closed down. Have you heard if Hawaii is open to tourism yet? And if so are they back to doing thing like markets and luaus?

Kawaii is lovely. But yeah it's not the place to go for anything... terribly touristy. Some great hikes and beautiful landscape almost beyond compare. Very little in the way of shopping or food or crowded beaches.

Hawaii is a state you know, lol! If you want some culture though, please visit the Bishop Museum. It is overly commercial though if that's what the girl meant by "American." If you want to avoid the overcrowds then maybe hit Fiji or Tahiti, not American and not frequented but definitely Polynesian.

Hi I dont remember if this was a rumor or a actual Canadian travel advisory in approximately 1990's , the local criminal element was targeting Canadian tourists, did this ever exist? Was it all cleared up? How careful should you be as a tourist in Hawaii? Is it certain areas? Thx take care, be well n be safe!

As tropical paradise as these islands are , I’ve seen videos where there’s just trash and abandon vehicles, stoves , it’s just heartbreaking to see how people are like roaches even places like these (side note even Florida have trash dump by people throughout its water way both on the roads and on the water 😡)

I love your videos and generally consider you an expert but there are a couple of major flaws in this video. 1) You completely overlooked Kailua & Lanikai beaches voted as the best in the world and not overcrowded like Waikiki. 2) You killed one of the top beaches and tourist areas in West Maui - Kāʻanapali pronounced as indicated: ka (like the ka wound in Macaw birds) break then anapali. 3) Sandy Beach has warnings - not for tourists. The break is known for breaking necks. You got Zippy's right! LOL! Its like Bill Miller BBQ in San Antonio TX. Not the best BBQ at all but if you want BBQ, fried chicken, Salad, or tacos you can eat well, assorted, under $10. Teddy's has good burgers. The Alamoana food court known as Shirokiya Japan Village Walk is the bomb! Times Market is more geared toward local foods but they aren't in tourist destinations. Lastly, you gotta do a luau so if you want to kill two birds then do the Polynesian Culture Center Breath of Life Show + Luau pkg but if you want a solo events then Germaine's like you mentioned. Thanks for doing these videos.
@YellowProductions4 жыл бұрын
Hi Cathy.. thanks for the input. I'm aware of the high votes for Kailua and Lanikai.. and I've been there a few times. I still like Ko Olina better. Yeah. . I know I mispronounce Kaanapali.. i must have some mental block on that... maybe I'll get it in to my head this time. And I've seen the signs for sandy beach.. I'm an avid bodyboarder and its a good bodyboarding wave.. but yes.. you have to be careful. I think when it says not for tourists.. i take that as a warning to the pink inner tube wearing tourists :)

At least where I live they are refusing to test anyone who is asymptomatic so you can't go anywhere that is required. My daughter and I volunteered in Minneapolis after the riots and even our department of health recommended we get tested but I called every large clinic system within 45 minutes of my home and they all said they were aware of the recommendation but they would not test us. Luckily a month out and we are fine.
