What did you use to add weight? There doesn’t seem to be too many options. (I am avoiding adding to the wheels.
@rippfpv9 ай бұрын
@@MtOlympusRC I did add to the wheels in the front but went to heavy 1.0 wheel with the dj crawler comp pins with the 2 stage inserts it’s the same as the stock set up then I did heavy wheel hex’s in the front and brass rc awd servo mount with linkage and links and drive shaft all metal with rc awd 20% overdrive gears in the front I’m mixing and matching from the fx118 and cr18p and the evo parts

Have you replaced your servo? If so, what kind?
@MtOlympusRC2 ай бұрын
I replaced it on the brushed version but not the brushless one. The brushless one comes with metals gears and is $15 at helidirect. The one I replaced the plastic gear one with is this one from injora and it’s been great. a.co/d/axVBW2b

Have you found a solution forbthe horrid wheel slop?
@MtOlympusRC15 күн бұрын
In short no but I do adjust how I drive the Evo Pro. I was looking at the gears in the portals and they could have made them with a much tighter tolerance. I will be opening the transmission soon and I expect them to be sloppy as well. I guess you could replace the trans and the portals with a different one that is better. That may be worth looking into.

@MtOlympusRC I actually just found on RCAWD a gear reduction kit. I ordered it and hopefully it will help.

any performance difference probably comes down to the fact that the brushless version has the smallest and probably lightest brushless motor while the brushed version has a massive and heavy motor weighing down the front. also not sire how long youve had each one but the tires could have been ”broken in” differently.
@MtOlympusRC2 ай бұрын
I fully agree with the weight of the motors. I would say the tires were pretty close but the brushed ones were more broken in at the time of filming. My biggest complaint and difference is that the brushed motor hits the upper links and the servos that comes with the brushes has plastic gears.

By moving the sprung weight to the front aslow as possible, not just adding more weight (brass) to the front

I received mine (brushless version) today. I feel like a kid on Christmass.😄 Do you feel too much play in the transmission ? A 1/8 turn on the wheel on my truck. Not a big deal. Still looking for metal drive shafts. Do you have a link to find yours ?
@MtOlympusRC9 ай бұрын
I’ve got 1-1/4” of play from the portals to the motor. There is a lot of slop in just the portals alone. This is the one I got. It’s still shipping. (I’m a little nervous it won’t fit.) they are super back ordered. www.helidirect.com/products/hobbyplus-steel-u-joint-drive-shaft-set-for-cr-18-2pcs

The big problem with these is the lack of aftermarket parts and even availability of spare parts. Many dealers (also in Europe where i am) sell the Cars but no spare parts, some list spare parts but nothing in stock. And this is August 2024.
@MtOlympusRC4 ай бұрын
I fully agree! A lot of people tell me that the fx118 parts are compatible and they are, I just want more options. There is clearly the market for aftermarket parts. My goal is to get a manufacturer on board to start producing stuff. I will have my 6 month review coming out soon and will go over the upgrades I’ve done to both of them.
