One problem: a significant portion of those “honest” tax paying immigrants have been using American’s identification and SS numbers. This is identity fraud. I had a friend here in Boston- a hardworking black man trying to collect worker’s comp and the company’s lawyer told him in court that he’d been picking strawberries in North Carolina. That is an awful long commute! Caused him no end of trouble. For myself, I tried to get a cell phone at Verizon. They told me they already had an account in use with my SS#. I pulled a credit report and there was an address listed for me in Florida. I haven’t lived outside of Massachusetts in over 40 years and never in Florida. So no Verizon phone for me and no way to dispute this. Identity thieves should never be allowed Green Cards!!!
