Which Is Best? Ducati S2R | VFR 800 | CB1300
Taking stock of our family fleet last time I was home, but the question is who's is best?
My Honda CB1300, my brothers VFR 800 or my dads Ducati Monster S2R 800? Pretty sure we're never going to agree.

The number one thing to do the S2R is to go to a 14 to front sprocket. They have a 15 tooth sprocket on them from the factory to pass noise emissions.

Wow young man, you're such an in depth thinker, gleaning great perspectives out of your interviews and reviews. Very refreshing. Different from the common cookie cutter reviews out there. I subscribed one video ago and played this video as the first one after checking out your channel once subscribed, and I'm not regretting it and looking good to enjoying your others.

Both a little bias on your own bikes 😉 I’m a VFR fan right down to my soul but you’re both right, filtering isn’t pleasant on the wrists at slow speeds. The feeling of the VTEC jolt is something you’ll never get bored of though.

Great video and totally agree with the outcome. The duke is a fantastic bike that on the right roads makes a lot of pure sport bikes look pointless, so easy to ride quickly but as you say no fun in town. Chopped mine in for a BMWS1000r last year and still trying to get used to it, wish I could have had both, miss the duke.

Hello! Great piece here. Great conversation and perspective. I think it's pretty special that you get to ride with your family like that. Cherish it, Mate. It's fun to see the bikes together as well. I had a good bud who rode a '04 VFR. Great bike. He loved it, but it had a few niggles that aggravated him as well. I got to ride it and I enjoyed it very much. Though I think your Dad is correct, I am much more comfortable on the FA, the 1300 for you. There is no perfect bike, though. We can get close but I don't believe that one bike can do it all for us.

Own a cb1300s for 12 years..love it but really does need a 6th gear for motorway. My VFR1200F is the opposite....High gears and so much power.

Yeah 😂 when I went out on the bandit and my mate on his GSXR1000, I'd nail it down a road as fast as I dared, feeling like a hero, I'd glance in my mirror and my mate would be sat bolt upright on his gixxer, one hand on his hip, looking around at the scenery. # disheartening.

I consider myself a beginner, I've in my hands a 2005 speed triple 1050 and a SR2 800 pretty much for the same price, love them both for looks. I'm kind of leaning towards the Speed because is more value for money and I've been advised that as long as I'm gentle, I shouldn't be overwhelmed by its power. As you were saying though, I'm concerned that I would be always scared because it does pull strong. The idea is to have an enjoyable still torqy ride for twisty roads not planning for high speed blasts in the highway. Which one would you recommend?
@RarefiedRoad
@RarefiedRoad 3 жыл бұрын
For that purpose probably the SR2. The speed is a great bike and very good value for money but it will more comfortably do dangerous speeds. The monster is less likely to tempt you over the limit.
@FuzzyScaredyCat
@FuzzyScaredyCat 3 жыл бұрын
You have to be careful on the Speed Triple. You can be riding along at what you think is a reasonable speed, only to look down and see you'd have no license if you got caught. Effortless power has cons ;)

Haha, yes, exactly. I have custom mirrors on my S2R, it looks much better. But Monster any day, yes. It is a brilliant bike, "fluid" means boring to me. And this bike is never boring. Previous bike was a 999s, it was a gem but my age... so switched to the Monster. (after many jap bikes.) I'll stick to the L2 twin after all, I'll buy never again a L4 bike. (not even a newer v4 duc, L2 Desmo for life :) )
