I see very conflicting opinions on whether it is better to buy 2 JBL 730s or 1 JBL Ultimate. Can anyone clarify more for me?

If you already have a 710, just buy another one, and in stereo mode, it will sound better than 1 Ultimate. If you don't have any and have lots of money, just buy the best - the JBL Partybox Ultimate. Cheers

Yep. JBL Partyboxes cut audio for half a second when going from 95 to 100% volume. You could hear it with the Ultimate but not the 710 which means 710 wasn't at full volume.

Even if u watch audiotribes videos you will see that when the mic is positioned the exactly same position of each speaker the results show that the ul3can produce 109+ db's. The 710 and 1000 are good and way cheaper therefore the bias by most.

The Ultimate is a Disappointment. It’s such a big speaker compared to the 710 and reaches the same decibels 108 db ultimate and 108 db 710. The ultimate should be at least 115 dB. 710 is the better speaker here.

This is obviously not true. There is plenty of tests on yt showing that even double 710 can't beat the loudness of a single Ultimate. Also, according to M1M tech channel these are the actual numbers of max loudness: JBL PARTYBOX 710 118,3 dB(c) JBL Partybox Ultimate 124,8 dB(c)

For the money you spend and how close they are in db's the 710 all the way.. The ultimate cost twice the money! You can buy 2 710's and use TWS mode. Lol. Kind of stupid to waste your money on the ultimate... I have 2 710's and 2 310's. I'm going to buy another set of 710's it's a NO BRAINER!
