I don't know if you are able to hit all your shots the r99's optimal ttk is probably lower than the volt due to the high rpm, but you have to hit all your shots so I think it's a high risk, high reward kinda deal

For me, the reason R-99 is better is due to the RPM. If a person performs a quick peek, I'm much more likely to hit multiple shots with the R-99 because it will hit more than once. But with the Volt, the RPM isn't as high and if a person quick peeks I'll likely hit much fewer shots. I've noticed I deal much more damage with the R-99 due to these exact circumstances over the Volt. So, in an instance that a person quick peeks. Volt will land probably one bullet, 16 damage. But the R-99 will likely land two bullets, 11 x 2 = 22 damage. If the gunfight is straight out in the open and there's no quick peeks, the Volts output is greater and will likely win assuming both players hit all their shots. But most gunfights do not happen like that. However, the Volt does seem to have an easier recoil to control over the R-99, this enables the Volt to be useful at greater ranges. But that's not necessary as people usually have a secondary gun anyway. Preference still goes to R-99 for me.

yeah the r99 is overall better than the volt stats-wise, albeit just by a little bit. volt has some advantages over the r99, but the r99 has more advantages over the volt. but in the end, the advantages each gun has over the other are nearly indistinguishable in-game (most notable being hipfire accuracy), so it really just comes down to preference.

The r99 shoots so fast that if you’re getting shot you can’t react before your armour is gone. Plus with its firerate combined with the good recoil you can ruin the enemies armour before they even know what hit them.

Personally, I think the volt is overall a better gun. I think the r99 is better on Worlds Edge, but the Volt DOMINATES on Olympus. I think its easier to get volt attachments than r99 attachments, but for some reason the volt just feels so clean. Its recoil patter is so simple and the gun is very forgiving if you miss shots too.

the biggest diff is the versatility of the volt over the r99. the volt just has greater accuracy at further dist and actually can be compared to an assault class. The fact that it has a slower RPM than the r99 allows it to be more forgiving when one misses a few shots.

A lot of people overlook damage per mag. You gotta realize if you get stuck reloading in front of an enemy you're basically dead and getting behind cover to reload gives them some time to regroup. So reload speed and mag size should probably factor into the dps imo. Volt is by far the winner.

Volt has better stats, but in practice the R-99 is better. The default crosshair on the R-99 is better, so without optics it's easier to aim than a Volt. Energy ammo is less common than light, granted you use less too, but you will still have an easier time finding light ammo. Fewer people carry a Volt so finding ammo on death boxes will be more challenging.

Volt is better almost in every way it’s just the reason that r99 is more popular is because it uses light ammo so it’s better to combo with lots of gun (G7, R301, Alternator RTC) when volt you can pair only with other energy guns which people usually don’t like as much.
