Which Is More Important: Frame Rate or Graphics?

After hearing some friends debate about it recently, I decided to make a video about my views on the frame rate vs graphics debate!

Don't give a crap about either. I have all of the modern consoles, and of them my favorite is the Switch. I gladly still play games from the 1980s-2000s on original hardware on a CRT TV because they're great games and experiences. Even GTA6 can be 480p, 4:3, and 30 FPS, and I won't give even the slightest bit of crap if it plays well and has a great single player campaign.

This! I've never really gotten the obsession with either of them. I still primarily play older games and even though I can tell older games don't look as nice as modern games, it doesn't hinder my enjoyment of them. And I've never paid attention to the specific number of frames it's running at, if I don't see lag it's good enough for me.

I definitely agree on frame rate being more important than graphics. I believe more than anything, the frame rate needs to be consistent. There are many that complain about certain games being 30 fps, but I feel like that isn’t much of a issue if it stays 30 fps throughout most of the game. An inconsistent frame rate can be really distracting and make it harder for people to play and enjoy a game properly, because their skill performance is constantly being disrupted from the framerate being all over the place. I tried Genshin Impact on my PS4 around the game’s release and dropped it early on because of the inconsistent frame rate

These days, low settings aren't as jarring and we're spoiled by 60fps. In my opinion there is no going back after playing 60fps. Don't have any of the new consoles because I'm abstaining from videogames, but if I did, I would go for the performance mode.

Fps, would rather play in potato mode with 60 fps than ultra mode with 20 fps.
