California Olive Ranch olive oil has increased their prices substantially at Walmart. 100% California increased $5 on the smallest glass bottle and $2 increase on the small aluminum bottle.

The best EVOO is Colavita Premium Italian made in Italy from the first cold press of Italian olives. It has a great warming mouth feel, the slightest bit peppery and a mild burn in the throat. I won't use any other, if my grocer is out, I'll drive 20 miles to another grocer to get it. Perfect for dipping bread, as a base for pesto, or cooking with any Italian dish.

For good lords sake. Who decides the best virgin olive oil for 2024.. I belong to a very old culture who produces Virgin olive (as they say stone squeezes) yet it is vey difficult to finger that is the best oil because taste changes smell changes according to location and earth and especially reaction to the wheather…. So I can choose old country olive oils but in good old USA I wonder

Olive oil quality changes all the time based upon their blending sources. Even oil from a single country is blended from all the various individual oil suppliers in that country of which some may even import oil from elsewhere, thus disguising that an oil that claims to be from one country might not be due to the lack (and refusal) of standardization and certification practices to reduce food fraud and corruption.

These are brands designed to charge the most money possible from the consumer, the best olive oil I've tasted is from Alfandega-da-Fé in Portugal. Also Greece has very good olive oil as well as Italy.

I think olive oil is more of monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA), not polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA).

Olive oil has 70-80% oleic acid which is a monounsaturated fat, and 8-10% polyunsaturated fats. On the other hand most other vegetable oils contain less monounsaturated fats and more polyunsaturated fats. Thanks .

I didn’t hear anything about the heating point that is so important when you use oils. For example, avocado oil it has a boiling point of 500 while olive oil is good to be use in salads, but not to sautéed or cooking, because his boiling point it’s only around 300.

Lucini may be Walmart's best(highest polyphenols) olive oil. If you are open-minded, buy several types. Many of those brands are Walmart mart of fake as a three-dollar bill! Please cook with Avocado oil due to smoke point. When Olive oil is heated too hot, it increases the Omega 6's.

I bought about year ago at TJ Max for $17.00 after Googling it and seeing price of $85.00 ! But was unremarkable, no fragrance, taste , pepper on the throat nothing at least at the time ! This year TJM sold it for $16.00 for 33.8 oz ! I reordered Atlas seems to be higher than average in Polyphenols !
