This is so hard cause I love all of mine. Silver Sky Maple, 594 Singlecut Standard, Custom 24-08, Hollowbody II Piezo. Each one has its place and helps me cover my bases. S style, LP style, Versatile Hollowbody with acoustic piezo flexibility, Modern fast neck playing with versatile pickup configurations.

Ive got a twin of your blue 594. It is my favorite also. My 245 (with seymour duncans) comes in very high also. I really like the shorter scale lengths, as i have physical issues that require me to use lighter strings for less string tension anyway. The shorter scale also promotes less string tension. All that plus an excellent build quality and just great playability and you have a reasonably priced guitar that plays way above its price.

Awesome choice. I'm planning to buy a SE McCarty 594 in Vintage Sunurst soon :) My main axe at the moment is a PRS SE Standard 24 -08. Very versatile guitar and it suits my needs as a gigging musician. The McCarty will be a great addition to my rig :)

The 2019 PRS SE Custom 24 Roasted Maple. Only 2,200 made for the US market as a limited edition run. I bought one in Trampas Green and it was built in South Korea. It’s just my opinion but the build quality of the South Korean guitars far exceeds what they’re building now. I finally played a PRS SE DGT with the intention of trading mine in on it, however after spending some time with it, I kept mine. 🎸

The best SE model for me, which I bought new last year is the Santana SE. It's brilliant. Body shape of a Les Paul double cut, thick mahogany neck, mahogany body with a solid maple cap and a pretty lemon/caramel (depending on the lighting) colour on a pretty but not overly fancy flamed veneer top. Subtle. Full character humbuckers that rip and are dynamic, and the pots are out of the way, great trem ( I had a claw installed for down trem only) rosewood board, super tight construction, smooth frets, etc. I just flipped the truss rod cover and had a real bone nut put in. The bonus of this guitar is that it has an LP double cut shape and doesn't have that elongated horn look of most double cut PRS guitars. How could you forget about the Santana! ;). (I know many models...) It's the best one! imho. Have a good one.

I borrowed a red Santana SE that sent me down the PRS path years ago! I agree, it is quite the guitar and its namesake did us all a favor by helping start the SE line. I can't own all of the SE models but thought this mix was a good jumping off point for conversation. Thanks for watching!

I agree with you about the guitar in first position in the ranking. Thanks to the 594 microphones which are excellent (So the 5815 PU instead of 8515). I've been telling myself for a long time that I should buy it... May be my next GAS. I already have a silver sky and a Custom Semi Hollow (the SH 22 SY) and I love it. If you have the chance, try it. (The 8515s sound different on a semi-hollow body) It is very light in addition to being beautiful. She is my favorite of all Thank you for your video

Was never a PRS fan, and don't care much for the general "style" of their guitars. They all kinda look the same to me. Gaudy tops, generally doublecut with a wraptail trem of some sort, and odd control layouts. Then they dropped the McCarty .594 Singlecut standard in the SE line. When they went on sale recently, I picked up a vintage cherry example. Now this NF3 in Gunmetal Grey with a rosewood fretboard! Not your typical PRS affairs. Very impressed with both of them. They do something none of my other guitars can. Unique, is the word I'm looking for. Capable of way more vintage styles, than I've generally geared my collection towards. Everything else I've got is souped up to max. Now I've got 2 really sweet and specifically purposeful guitars, that fit nicely in my modest collection. Both keepers for very minimum outlay.

@@Sick_Strings01 Yeah, there's no doubt I chose these 2 PRS specifically for the pickups. I'm really not sure how much difference there is anymore between the Core, S2, and SE line when it comes to pickups? Certainly not thousands of dollars difference.

The 594 has the exact same pickups as the Hollowbody II, the 58/15 LT "S" set The 594 also has coil splits via the push/pull tone controls The NF3 pickups sound the best to me

@@Kaiju007 it is certainly a well thought out and meticulously constructed guitar. My biggest drawback is the weight though. I personally prefer a lighter guitar. @@Sick_Strings01 on solid body guitars, more resonance = less sustain. I have 3 guitars over 8lbs and 3 well under 8lbs and none of this matters to me when plugged in to my amps as long as I can get the tones I want. A good 1176 type compressor can solve any of the resonance/sustain issues.

Respectfully, someone’s choice of guitar is very subjective. We all have personal preferences on many different levels. This video was just intended to see what people thought was the “best” of some of the most relevant/recent models of PRS SE guitars. There is no way I could include EVERY model as the line is huge!

@@Sick_Strings01 Well, I used to be a PRS fan which, I suppose, is why the algorithm recommended the video to me. I've owned maybe a dozen of them over the years (maybe more) and just took pictures of my last one in order to sell. I find they're mostly technically good (with some issues!) but that they, essentially, have no soul. I can't really explain it but they're technically fine and just don't get played. God knows I've admired what they've tried to do with them but it's just not clicking for and never has for more than the honeymoon period. Maybe it's the difference between driving along the coast in an old stingray corvette vs doing the same in a tesla. One is technically superior and very advanced but...the experience just isn't the same. That's my experience and perspective on PRS guitars. I think all points of view should be welcome in a discussion. We shouldn't only allow positive comments. Here's one for the algorithm anyway!

That’s an excellent answer! I can totally understand what you are saying there too. I agree that for a while it seemed as though the pickups were the problem for sure! They were “clinical” or “sterile” to my ears. The newest batch of SE’s have changed that for me now. Maybe one last try? Thanks for being civil and contributing!
