I still see a lot of oversteering/slipping here; make sure you NEVER use the 'automatic by weather' option for tires. Make your own choice between hard and soft slicks. If you choose hard slicks at laguna (because of hot ambient/track temp) you can push as hard as you want without ever oversteering or nervous braking. Lower temperatures --> go for soft slick. You will never slip/spin again in corners. The automatic by weather is absolute crap

@@Deacers I tend to use softs on track temperatures under 20 degrees. In cars that don't have soft slicks, I'll use sport or wet tyres on tracks/weather that you can't get to operating temperature

I actually did the same Test with these cars, and in my test, the Huracán turned up to be the fastest car, with 1:24,732. But I think people have different opinions, the Huracán was the Car I could drive the fastest. Some People are faster with other cars.

Nice test, but your 3rd and 4th place are the wrong way round from the times you put up. Unless I'm being real dumb, 1.24.660 is slower than 1.24.633 so the Ferrari would be 3rd and not the M6.

GTE's are faster and a different class though so you can't really compare them.

I did a little bit of tuning on the Merce AMG and it is pretty good for me now but deffo the understeer is a bitch, might just have to try another car soon to see how it feels. Just had to focus on a car to learn the game and the Merce was a good start.

Ha did the same thing yesterday on the same track. Was using stable setup for all the cars though. My times were 2.5sec slower on average than yours but got the same order (and did only two laps with R8 to make it to the top). Good to have a confirmation from a better driver!

I do these comparisons too in my free time, i spend even too much time, but i have fun I try to use a different car in every track, so i have to make these tests. My best lap around laguna seca was in 1:23.683 with the huracan. I just changed a few things and it was perfect to drive

Of course this is very track dependant and Laguna Seca is thus not a good representation. You're really ought to go to a track with a longer straight, you'll see the AMG GT3 and the Nissan crawl much closer.

Or Daytona for that matter. I do believe this is a correct list but the gaps themselves are a bit misleading. From my experience I also rate the R8, the Huracan, The M6 and the 991 as the best overall. Followed by the 488 and 650S. With my driving style I'm never going to be as quick in the Nissan or the Bentley.

Laguna is like Brands Hatch or Agarve; few straights and prominent elevation changes. imho Bathurst is one of the best tracks for combining of both the slower elevation sections AND very fast straights, moreso than Spa, even.

So far only skipped to the end as I don't have time, but I was very pleased by the top two as they were my top two choices when I tested all the cars on Red Bull Ring. Probably not the best 'trial' circuit but I'd done a lot of it by the time I reached GT3 in the career, so I was very familiar with it. Decided on the McLaren as I felt very slightly more comfortable in it compared to the Audi, and even posted my fastest lap out of all the GT3 cars despite it being only the second one I picked.

Depends a lot on the course you're running, but I've tuned a Cadillac that held it's own against these cars in an online race. No it's not the best car, but I was just tired of seeing a grid full of Ferrari's. Also, the Porsche is great when tuned and imo, better than the Ferrari. Driving style, course, etc... The list is not accurate anymore. At release the Ferrari was op af, it was literraly at least half a second faster than any gt3 car. All the online lobbys were filled with it, players almost only used the Ferrari, then they nerfed it. Also now the Huracan and Mercedes AMG GT3 is among the top 5 cars and really good. McLaren is one of the slowest of modern GT3 cars now

The fastest laptimes of GT3 cars, if we check at the leaderboards in time-trials are done with the 488. Maybe you drove them in default settings, but probably it's when we start to tweak the Ferrari that it can deploy all of it's potential. However, I believe that the differences between a record and a race pace can be huge. For example the record for Red Bull ring is now at 1.27 with a 488, while in race pace we will rarely see under 1.30 (I saw 1.29 only once in a qualifier out of ~100 people that I've raced with in that track). So there is a big margin to really count for driver skill, no matter the default car differences. Sorry for long post.

Yeah the 488 is fast no doubt, on a faster track than Laguna i bet the Ferrari would win. Racepace will always be slower than Q pace, specially in long races. And like you said some people are hotlappers and some are better in a race situation.

It probably has to do with being a rear-engined car. I've noticed with the Renault and the McLaren both are snappy as well.

Overall it seems online most prefer the 488 to their driving style and I see a lot of race wins with it but there are those exceptions that love using m6 and the audi that will win also. For me I love the dynamics of the nsx and am usually fastest with that. The amg drives great and feels fast but I need a fast track to be fast with it

Well the best thing they've done is that you can actually balance them out with the restrictor plate. So for leagues it'll be amazing, for pub racing well I'll be driving my favourite of the bunch 650s \o/

The stable setups are good for beginners but tend to be pretty understeery, so not ideal for the fastest lap times. I usually use the stable setup as a base, then soften up the front/stiffen up the rear suspension to get the car to rotate a bit more, but every car is different and some come with loose setups that already feel very good to me.

I’ve done a race on Nurburgring Combined, I was driving an AMG GTR and in front of me there was an R8 (your top 10) and we both have got at the point where there is a straight road. The Audi overtook me, but I passed him easily with my GTR, there was a pretty big gap between me and the R8. Audi has a very good acceleration time, but sucks when it comes to top speed.

Great video dude, I know it’s a lot of work but it would be cool to see test videos with minimal tunes, ya know aero to suit track, gearing, and the ABS n traction turned down to their absolute min. Before they’re useless, I found the stock traction settings far too intrusive and had to basically wind it back so that it was only kicking in for like 25% so it was at 75 on the tuning set up. Also some tracks I’ve found good for testing set ups along with with Barcelona, Imola is good, nice long straight and good array of corners & Algarve 😁

It would be best if you used a TA run for each cars, so you wouldn't be getting better lap times. That way if all the runs were frame by frame the same, we could see which car is better. You could get 41:07 with the worst car, and get 40:83 with the 2nd worse car, and the list wouldn't be right.

The porsche is very nice to drive, I don't think it necessarily has the most front grip, the Audi and McLaren probably have more.

tbf some of the differences in laptimes between the cars can be due to the driver being more suited to drive certain cars. Minus the BMW the entire top 6 is mid-ship cars, and everything below the top 10 is front-rear. I've seen the BMW Z4 take 5 seconds per middle sector out of everything else in the spa 24h in the night a few years back, it's really driver preference and how accustomed you are to these cars I think. And just like in real life the R8 is pretty dominating, although indeed if you do get a good lap in the McLaren it crushes all. Just look at the lap record on Bathurst.

I tested the R8, NSX and Aston at imola with default setups and found similar results. The r8 is faster by some margin. I think the Aston needs more aero. Fastest in the straight but too loose in the corners.

+Tobi Ogunsanwo yeah exactly, on an oval the Aston would probably win 👍😉 On any other track its pretty shit. GTE Aston drives great though

It also favours the power cars, so the results would not give an accurate impression of the cars on twistier tracks. Baralona is one of the best test tracks to go with, as it has a bit of everthing. Good job on the video!

Yeah, we are in the process of testing the GT3 cars for the leagues, I'm always interested in what other ppl find. I don't have Audio just now, and you may have said in your video, but is this test using custom setups, or default? (again, sorry if you cove this in the video)

In my opinion the BMW M6 is faster than any other cars in this game, but it is easier to lose control, too. Very quick for a hotlap but can be horrible for a race. Otherwise my favourite car is the Renault. It is amazing to drive. Its feedback from the ground are amazing, it feels light while you can brake and turn as u would do with a Formula car. Blocking brakes a bit while turning, u can use it very aggressively. Unfortunately it uses a lot of tyre, so have to be carefeul on the race. However I have to admit, that R8 is feeling very fast too, with good balance and turning and accelaration but I couldn't achieve very good lap times, don't know why....

I love the Hurucán. It handles like shit with massive oversteer on the default setup, but if you change the setup and soften the rear it drives great.

I don't get why the gt3 class is so popular. I hate it, the cars feel so slow and boring. The tuning is daunting and annoying, and then the one time you finally put in a good qualifying time you just end up getting punted in turn 1

Obviously a really high demanding video due to getting use to the track and car and then putting together a good lap with all these cars bout asking if you could repeat this test at some tighter track and some more open tracks to get a better understanding for these cars. The gtr, amg gt car, Cadillac, and Bentley, are a lot slower on the tight tracks but are good on big long tracks. Mazda raceway really cares for the cars like the McLaren and other good handling cars.

The Audi isn't the fastest gt3 round here mate we are in the low 1:22's in the Mclaren at Mazda raceway and it's also possible to get 22's in the Ferrari.

+Kryptic TMG sure it is under some conditions. But in official timetrial settings these were the times i could come up with. And at the time they're either 1st or atleast top 5 in TT. Then again there are people faster than me of course

I personally like the audi but whenever i have set the cars up properly for my set video's i have found that you can shave heaps of time off the mclaren and Ferrari i was hoping the BOP would be a little more balanced for PC2 because once everybody figures out the setups i think ppl will just pick the same cars over and over.

Yeah i was expecting the older cars to be slower like the SLS and the Aston but i was expecting big improvements for AMG and i hoped the lambo & porsche would be very strong i think Assetto Corsa has a much better BOP in imo.
