I started a S&S ISA with Invest Engine this year. I was so impressed with them that I transfered my previous ISAs from a morr traditional/established company to them.

The isa providers are akin to supermarkets they don’t all stock all the products you may want so check the isa supplier first if they “hold” the stock you want… it’s NOT just about the cost!! Just like the supermarkets…

I moved from vanguard ISA after being with them for a few years to a Barclays ISA because I needed the employer reporting service for my job.

Wasn't there a film where the baddy said: "Light them up! All of them" ISAs: "Fill them up! All of them!" And count yourself lucky you have them. Dozens of other countries with wealth tax, tax on unrealized gains, deemed disposal, fictitious rendement etc. etc.

I currently have a Foresters Stocks and Shares ISA as its what my Child trust fund was in and was simple to move over. Is this a good company? I have been looking at switching to Vanguard due to the lower management fees as mine are currently 1.5%.

1.5% is robbery, I'd recommend Trading 212 or Invest engine as they both offer 0%, Vanguard is good but has a 0.15% fee and limits you to just Vanguard funds which have generally higher fees anyway. Personally I use Invest Engine with mostly Invesco funds like the S&P 500 (SPXS) or the Invesco FTSE All-World (FWRA)

1.5% is quite hefty! Hargreaves Landsdown, a notoriously *expensive* platform, only charges 0.45% management fee on fund portfolios below £250k (NOTE: the maths is technically more complicated as funds have specific fees usually around 0.10%-0.40%, but then HL negotiates with certain funds to waive part of the fee so what you end up paying ends up being around 0.45% anyway). Definitely considered changing platforms as that 1.5% is definitely eating into your growth (not necessarily to HL, check out money saving expert for a good list of the better S&S isa providers and compare how much each would cost your portfolio)

Is it wise to sell your investments when switching? Or is it better to just keep the portfolio and then build up the new one?
