As soon you got the crystal than unlocks this job, you got already the best weapons available in the game in that moment. Put the geomancer on the front row and use physical attacks and, because he has a boost in agility, he can do quite a lot of damage. I kept my geomancer until I cleared everything in Eureka, then I switched that character to summoner.

@@ChuckyDoll79 I've used one and it's surprisingly frail, getting 1HKOd by stuff that would two shot the black mage in the same party, equipped with the same armor. Keeping a geomancer in the front row is out of the question, even if the physical damage is great at that specific part of the game where the job unlocks. I like Geomancer for Hein (he doesn't resist any of the Terrain moves, but occasionally you get whirlpool which will always fail on him), but that's it.

Beat Final Fantasy III on Android on my downtime at work a few days ago. Solid game. I usually had Refia as a healer, Arc as my Magic DPS (Black Mage, Magus) with Luneth as my Damage Dealer (Warrior, Dark Knight, Knight then Ninja) and Ingus as another damage dealer (finally making him a Knight after finding out Viking is nothing but a great tank). I beat Cloud of Darkness on the second try.

I know they wanted to balance the job system, but the super special pinnacle of all magic-users job from the original game getting nerfed to the point that it is considered mid tier here was one of my biggest beefs with the FF3 remake.

it always shocks me people forget one thing about Dragoons... you are nigh on INVINCIBLE while jumping, only a few enemies can actually hit you in the ENTIRE FRANCHISE, hell i can only think of 3 enemies, all of which are in FF5.

Okay imma defend the onion knight and the scholar real quick First onion knight: in the android version of the game you get the job REALLY easily either right before or right after the second crystal by having Arc flex on his bullies. And cons of the job are that its base stats suck until your character is level 92 and i don't even know if I'll get that high by the end of the game and it has the lowest job level growth in the game BUT it can equip any gear and use any magic so all the best stuff your other 3 characters aren't using won't go to waste. Most physical attack damage comes from weapons anyway and job level increases the amount you hit and the amount healing your white magic does so the low stats don't make much of a difference. Survivability and magic damage are kind of an issue for me right now but being able to use high level magic makes up for it and also end game she'll have the best stats (if I get over 90). It's kind of the best upgrade for red mage because it can do it all. With scholar, that free Libra/erase every turn is pretty good but what's even better is the fact that their weapons are actually really good midgame, they double the effectiveness of items, can use any magic up to level 3 AND have the fastest job level growth in the game so right now I have my guy hitting upwards of 20 times every attack for thousands of damage, nuking bosses with items, and healing everyone like crazy. (Arc as my scholar and Luneth as my thief don't even need the other two most of the time) I'll probably have the job mastered by level 40

Personally I’d say Warrior belongs in a higher tier. It is important to note that the displayed damage cap is false. It’s usefulness relies pretty heavily on job level, but if you use it consistently the entire game it’ll deal more than double damage in the final dungeon, outpacing every other physical damage dealer, and it’s survivability difference is pretty negligible in practice. Meanwhile, the knight is… slow. In my last run of the game, my warrior managed to 4 hit kill the final boss, with only a bard contributing to damage otherwise.

i played on the PSP (best version of remake). so, no online gimmick. my final team are 4 Onion knights with full Onion equipment. but 3 black belt and a devout can do well. just punch them to oblivion.

If you're recommending using Viking just use the 2 highest DPS classes man the warrior and either dragoon or ninja depending on whether you are willing to grind up a thief for gungnir or not. If yes dragoons heavily out perform ninja and the only class with higher DPS than warrior is a lvl 99 feok

Put a geomancer on the front row and use his physical attacks (dual bells, one in each hand). This way, he is a very good damage dealer on single target. As much good as the thief.

Scholar is heavily abused in the Speedrun in the 3D version of the game. Though there is an item Dupelication glitch that is abused in the 3D version.

My one big problem with the ranking is that you never once take availability into account. For example, the classes that outmatch white mage are obtained only a few hours before the end of the game, and they’re the single best healer until then

I disagree with both Dragoon and Warrior. My endgame party was Dragoon+Devout+Warrior+Sage, and my Dragoon and Warrior did most of the damage with Jump and Advance respectively. They're both very viable. Ninja is cool and all, but not everyone is a fan of throwing all their shit away/buying Shurikens. Granted, I always do all the sidequests so I had the best possible equipment/weapons on my D and W, but still.

It's annoying how long you have to wait for the tier 2 classes. Scholar would be a powerhouse in the early game since attack items are already so potent. Probably ranger too. The game feeds you a lot of good bows and arrows for free that only the Warrior can equip. I don't even know if Advance works on Bows.

Viking suffers from what a lot of other classes suffer from. Having to commit on them early Around midgame you just don't beed a tank for anything at all, so its pointless to drop one of your 3 attackers for a tank and just make battles last longer. Cover is ok and provoke is too but provoke will miss constantly at low JL. You don't need a tank for cloud of darkness, crystal tower, or eureka

I used a thief all the way to the end. Stealing isn't very useful, but the game provides tons of good equipment for them. I plan the round carefully only for my thief to go first and shred the enemies to ribbons. The ninja may be an upgrade, but who wants to do tons of grinding right at the end?

The problem with most job games is that when you switch to them they're usually weaker than what you're already using. This is especially true of some of the earth crystal jobs. For example Black Belt isn't a straght upgrade to a JL99 monk. Its considerably weaker and needs to be grinded up. Ninja does too. As for Magus I don't think a JL1 is a straight upgrade over a BLM JL99 either. Yes Flare Meteor are the strongest spells but you still have to grind it to overtake the JL99 BLM

Maybe for the DS version, but in the pixel remaster it's definitely the following: 3x Black Belts in the back row all spamming Kick and a Bard spamming Paeon, this gets you through all grinding and all dungeons. For bosses put the blackbelts in the front row, focus, attack and each one easily does 8k damage around level 40. With no gear requirements. Bard means you can turn combat to auto and never run out, I see no reason to use a different team.

Black Belt is gained when there are like only 2 bosses left. Literally anything you have been using all game as your damage dealer will be stronger. Grinding up is a waste of time when you can just beat Cloud of Darkness with wind crystal jobs at JL99 Also black belts have boost not kick? Boost is a 2 turn move like jump so kinda sucks

​@zantharian57 black belts are acquired right at the end of the game, with 1-2 dungeons remaining. One of those is an optional dungeon anyway. They are a damage loss vs anything you have been using all game that is JL99 (like warrior or monk). They need to be grinded up like everything else, and grinding for hours endgame is pointless I completed the game with three warriors and a devout (but the WHM JL99 would have been fine). I didn't grind anywhere all game it was just from naturally playing the game. Nobody had more than 3000hp. Black belts and ninjas were a massive dps loss. I had 6 shurikens at the end of the game that did way less damage than advance (because the real damage isn't displayed and goes over 9999). Ninja doesn't hit 9999 at JL1 even with shurikens. Even my JL99 thief did more damage than the JL1 ninja and black belt Is it unfair to compare a JL99 warrior to a JL1 Black Belt? Maybe, but I don't think so because time factored in also matters. The end of the game is right there and it's waste of time to start over at JL1 on Black Belt and go grind for hours. Onion Knight at JL99 is better than a black belt anyway using your logic of wasting time grinding up jobs when you can just finish the game with wind crystal jobs I'm not wrong. You are.

@@nezkeys79 You've made two main claims: 1) You acquire the Black Belt job right at the end of the game with only 1-2 dungeons remaining. 2) Black Belts do not have Kick ability Regarding #1, here is a list of major arcs in the IGN walkthrough - The Djinn - Finding Desch - The Nepto Dragon - Finding Desch's Purpose - Hein - ** Temple of Water ** (You Acquire Black Belt here) - Goldor - Saving Castle Saronia - Gutsco - Doga - Meet Unei - The Invincible - Side Beasts - Cave of Shadows - Xande - The World of Darkness As you can see, there is PLENTY of game left after acquiring the Black Belt job, and it does not require lots of grinding to "catch" up, as there is plenty of normal play time to hit 99 on the black belt without significant grinding. Regarding #2, I am playing the pixel remaster, which at this point in time is probably the definitive edition of the game. That may change in the future if they do a 2DHD remake, and while I do respect the originals, pixel remaster is now what almost everyone is going to be referring too. In that edition of the game, Black Belts have both Focus and Kick abilities. Kick works the same as Yang's kick from FF4. If you didn't know that, I can see why you were confused. Black Belts are EASILY out damaging every other class. In fact, even when I had a Dark Knight with Masamune and Ragnarok, the bare hands Black Belt was STILL doing more damage with regular Attack command. Conclusion: No you are wrong, thanks for coming out.

Black Mage is your best damage dealer until near the end where dual wield melee classes start to do crazy damage. Magus on the other hand is completely outclassed by most of the other damage dealing jobs you get at the same time.

I'm a huge warrior/monk junkie (using the same characters at 4:41). I will use Both jobs at beginning of job to end. Warrior can take more damage but as long as you have a blood sword equipped on either hand, your an unstoppable force of nature Monk becomes OP once you reach 80-99 and if you get to that job level before the final level, the black belt becomes useless .

Recently finished FFIII on Android after buying it way back in 2015 or so. The roles were generally Luneth as an offensive mage (Red Mage, Scholar, Geomancer, Summoner and finally Sage), Arc as the main healer (White Mage, then Devout), Refia as the fast physical attacker (Thief, then Ninja) and Ingus as a bulkier damage dealer (Warrior, Dragoon, Dark Knight and eventually Black Belt). I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by my team during the endgame, and while I regret not trying out certain classes (Ranger and Viking, mostly, and while I think Summoner is better than Sage, I desperately needed the extra healer in the final dungeons) it was an enjoyable experience. Not one that I’m going to repeat in a while, though.

I didnt had a bad time with the sage, i learned not to waste spell charges. Out of battle i used cure(lvl1) to heal and in battle i used ifrit and i had curajas which is a lvl 6 using a lvl4 spell. I know it is random the effect, but 90% of the time i got the curaja haha

Actually I argue the Scholar can go to top tier, if you either bring along a Thief to supply him or use the Item Duplication glitch, they can legit become the strongest magic dps Job in the game. Also Bard is definitly end game material here in my opinion, and Warrior imo is far better than Knight, Advance is a far superior ability. Also if you care about that Black Belt is pretty much the best class to reach 9999 max HP due to it's highest vitality.

I would put Monk in the good tier, because my Refia ends the fight with shinobi in 2 turns lol. The bad part about both Monk and Black Belt are the most lowest magic defence in the game, in some fights it's make them pretty useless. Sadly I didn't like monks and black belts in the Pixel Remaster and I say that as a huge FF3 Remake fan

Bard Ninja(Onion) Devout Knight is my last Boss Battle Team in FF3 3D while Ninja(3D) can't equip Ultima Weapon and Ragnarok and can't use Defender as Item (Free Cast Protect) Knight is best role for this Bard can Party Buff and deal damage from target's current HP good deal with dragon and/or boss Devout (3D) can use Holy Wand as Item to Heal and cast Protect/Haste --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Viking is not Bad but I recommend you to equip both hand with aegis shield or crystal shield than axes for Taunt, they also Upgrade skill in Pixel Remaster version to draw attack that can draw all enemy at once (But still don't use if enemy cast a spell) Dragoon(3D) should upper class than Mid-Tier when you can obtain Gungnir at the mid-game ,it help you to clear both Bahamut and Leviathan who weak Wind and Thunder element (Dragoon Lance have Wind and Lightning Element) Geomancer's Terrain skill can break through Hein's Element Shield and his insane Def also Gaia vest can protect them from Garuda's Lightning it's a good choice for fight against Like Geomancer, Scholar and use Zeus's Wrath(Heavenly Wrath if you lucky stolen/drop it them from Roper in the cave) to win Kraken at Water Shrine is their best role

Bard is a great endgame damage dealer, especially with Apollo Harp. I agree with Viking: put em in the backrow, give em two shields and watch your enemies do 0 damage. My final party was Bard/Ninja Luneth, Viking Ingus, Devout Arc, Bard Refia.

I'm about mid game but I'm LOVING the knight with a shield and a bloodsword I've even been passing up better swords because of how good automatic tanking for critical allies and then healing with attacks is. He's basically always full health

Your opinion on red mage is just so so so so wrong. They are not replaced by sages, as sages cannot equip shields, the ultima weapon, or excalibur like the Red Mage can. If you give a red mage those end game weapons and the crimson vest you will have a tanky physical attacker that can put out over 9999 damage per turn with an AGL stat rivaling thieves/ninjas, with the ability to cast curaga. The red mage doesn't have enough MP to be your sole support class, but their high AGL lets them fire off a full party full heal before any monster has a chance to move. Can be absolutely bonkers strong if built right.

I, respectfully, disagree with your list. Geo, ranger, and evok always get underrated and ninja and black belt always get overrated. Evokers are actually really good (not as good as in the Famicom version). When the damage version comes up, it does a LOT of damage. Statues will hit almost all the time at int/spr 50+(stat boosting equipment for sale in Saronia). For bosses, use Titan (always damage) or Ifrit (damage or BIG cure). Lots of charges for Shiva and Ramuh. Geo does big damage or auto KO for free. Damage increases by an insane amount with job level and int. All effects are non elemental ( but bosses are still immune to instant death). Ranger is (IMO) the BEST damage dealer in the game. They kinda suck at job lv 1, but at job lv 10-15 they become just as good as the melee jobs and can do aoe/multi hits. Barrage gives 4 points of melee proficiency (every 32 gives an extra attack) for both hands. And bows (and arrows) have no weight penalty. Put a ranger in your party as soon as you get them (salamander fire crystal),keep arrows stocked, and spam barrage ever turn for the rest of the game. You'll be very pleased with the result. Black belt and ninja have very low defense in 3ds version and won't survive front row without a viking. You called it on the Phoenix down liability, but put them at the top. My order would be: Ranger >warrior >theif > geo > scholar > magus > sage >black mage > smn > dark >drag > knight > freelancer > ninja > black belt > monk > onion for damage dealers. Evoker is (imo) a support and there really isn't any comparing them to damage dealers.

And, btw, since you like ninja and black belt, the next time you play through the game, make whoever you plan on being your ninja/blackbelt ranger as soon as it becomes available and spam barrage for the melee proficiency. From fire crystal to earth crystal you gain four times the melee proficiency. Melee proficiency, also call arm strength, doesn't reset during job change.

youre definitely wrong about scholar cause she is S tier broken solos the game if you know how to play, bad for new players. you did not study the game enough because scholar does more damage than all of your classes in your S tier. as soon as scholar is unlocked I always pick it but then the game becomes too easy highest intelligence in game and does double damage with items do you even think about what you say at all? she hits 9999 dmg very early in the game far before anyone else and breaks every boss. scholar is probably the best class in the game?
