Hi Sam, I like the sound of No. 3. It has a smoother and more of a rounded sound when you play the notes. In No. 2, the notes sounds sharp, the pitch sound high. It has that plucking sounds like a music box. No.1 is nice, its has a deep tone when you play the notes. But No. 3 has a richer and more of a fuller sound overall than rest of the two Kalimba. (Just my opinion)🧐 🙏🙏🙏

I really like this comparison! I recently bought a kalimba but it is one of the hollow ones like the first one you have. Although I like the sound of it alone, I do not like it's sound the best in this clear comparison. After I become possibly more advanced with this thing I'm really looking to purchase a 34 key kalimba that is not a hollow body.

I have a hallow kalimba and really love it. But now I want a flat bord one too ❤! I'm glad you can get a good one for fairly cheap. Only just started maybe 2 weeks ago and I'm hooked!

Hollow are loud. Filled in are soft. Acrylic is very soft

I have a flat board before. But i give it to my friend, and now i use the hollow one. Future, i want buy the flat board again because the sound of flat board is better and interesting 😂

Yeah I'm glad you liked the one I use the most. I definitely feel like it's the most mic friendly kalimba because of the consistency of the loudness. No peak levels you know?

the hollow sound too much bass for me.. cause i like to learn to play canon in C or D, acrilyc sound nice, but i still want to try that third kalimba.. haven't bought it yet.😅

The 3rd kalimba is great once you are already used with playing since it's twice (or more) the weight of the hollow one.

I have a hollow one, In the future I want an acrylic kalimba becaus eot sounds very nice and looks so pretty. Im just worried it might break since im kinda clumsy, do acrylic kalimbas break easily or no??

I dropped my acrylic kalimba once but it seems sturdier than it looks. Just a few mild scratches but it's not noticeable since its very transparent.

I need one with softer tabs my thumbs are sore af lol. I want to keep practicing don't want to lose my progress. The little silicon thumb things are way to tight and my thumbs are purple afyer using them.

I love the third one, but are there any disadvantages to not having a hole? Most cheap kalimbas have holes and I don't understand why that one doesn't.

It all depends on you. When you are happy with the current one you have then it's totally fine to have just one. The important thing is it inspires u to play consistently ☺️

I play the Acrylic kalimba but I think mine has a little bit of a lower pitch than yours, I think in the future Im going to try out more kalimbas but not anytime soon

Yeah, the smaller acrylics usually have a higher pitch. My nalu cat kalimba has a lower tone than the one i used in the video.

You should practice with the one you currently have for now and buy it as a reward for all the progress you made. The whale kalimba is quite wide and heavier than usual kalimbas so it won't be great for practicing songs.
