I'm glad you're giving Kaya more attention. She is such a treasure. I had gotton her early in my AG collecting days and have only a few of her outfits. I have made a lot of clothing for her trying to stay as accurate as I could using beads, turquoise jewelry, "elk teeth" and some other stuff I've found at thrift stores and such. I wish AG would do more indigenous characters, in itself it is very diverse in culture. I tried looking for the significance of the chest stain on the garments, I know it has meaning, a deer's tail or something? Not sure. Couldn't find anything. If you are really interested in Native dress both historical and modern, I recommend Smithsonian's book "Identity By Design".

@@buffmontana4203 thanks so much for the recommendation! I will look up that book. & wow! So impressed by your crafting skills! I agree that AG needs to make more indigenous characters. So much diversity across nations, and also so many important stories to tell. I'm thinking about making a video about it!

Happy belated birthday. I love Kaya and have most of her clothing. I want her modern jingle dress and her trading hat. the fringe on my original red shawl got damaged and I had to replace it as it is one of my favorite pieces. I would love to have her tepee but I don’t have the space. I have 2 Kaya dolls and recently got a TLC Kaya that I want to rewig her and make her modern. I would love to see her in her outfits. Thanks for the video.

@@nailahvenable7989 not belated- my birthday is in a couple of weeks! Thank you though 💕 all her outfits are so stunning! So many of her accessories are massive though, like her teepee and horse! I feel like those would need their own room lol. Good luck with the restoration!

That’s crazy how different they look since they were produced in the same year!!

@@scarletsavenger1367 they may not have been produced in the same year! That neck stamp was used for at least a couple of years I think!

Congratulations on getting your Kaya! They are both beautiful but it is interesting to see the differences. I think they used the same neck stamp for many years for Kaya so the other one could be much newer but with the same stamp. I agree that there are not a lot of videos about her. I actually made one on my channel when my channel was still very new. It’s a bit cringy but I found a Kaya at the thrift store! It was a lucky find. She had her meet outfit and shoes but missing the belt and the hair ties. I have her to this day and she is one of my favourite comfort dolls. 🥰

@@CherishedDollFriends thank you 💕 I wonder when they switched to a new version of the mold (that would then have a new stamp). So many small details in collecting for AG! I will have to go back & check out your old Kaya video!! Finding her at a thrift store is so lucky. I'm glad to hear you found each other & she brings you comfort. I can already see that mine will bring me much comfort as well.

I had success using fabric glue, and painting it on with a paintbrush. We’ll see how long that lasts.

@@sandrakulikowski6305 oooohh smart! I've used fake leather paint before and that worked on thicker pleather shoes (like Elizabeth's meet shoes), but I think I might try your technique!
