Love this! Thank you for putting up this video especially for newbies who are figuring out to buy first. I know this was a whip brand comparo video but 15:50 was the best part of this video. 😼 buddy up there made an impact to making me laugh and rewind 1000x😅.

Thank you so much for this video!! I wanted to learn how to whip and what to buy and actually got my whip based on your video. I got the AMKI (they now have a rechargbale version!) and I love it. The handle does hurt a lot when it hits you though.I also have ordered the Glofx for the color setting and thought it would be fun to have more than one. I really appreciate all your content and tutorials, there really isn't a lot out there on light whipping and have already learned a bunch from you so thank you!!! ☺

You really did answer any question that I would have known to ask and I loved how you weren’t afraid to be a little bit critical. The anki whip looked the best on video, really beautiful. Lightness of the whip is so important for me though. It’’s already so painful to get smacked in the head with fiberflies so I don’t want to imagine what the other whips would feel like. 😂
@AishawithanEye3 жыл бұрын
Haha yes!!! I'm glad you gained value from how thorough I was. 😂 And, hey, true love is sharing both the pros and cons and I do love all the whips and lightwhipping! Hopefully the brands take my feedback into consideration if they design subsequent whips. I agree that the lightness is truly important, which is why I won't stop using Fiberflies, especially on "bad arm" days. I do hope they include more color modes in the future!

@@AishawithanEye yes I bought a generic one on Amazon just to try still decent one but the colors are all one solid color at a time an can only really blur the lines to make the illusion. it looks like In your videos the whip is different colors and different sextons but I try to stop the video and see and only can spot it few frames whic can just be the blur? But I do believe the fiber flies does the multi color segments correct?

I started light whipping about 3 months ago with a whip that I bought from Amazon, there’s no brand name for it but I haven’t lost any fibers, I’m not delicate at all with it since it gets tangled extremely easily and my hair gets caught in the fibers so I guess that’s why they tangle so badly(I have long hair to my waist, ignore my old profile pic on here from high school😂) sometimes I just get so frustrated I’ll detangle it forcefully just like how I detangle my hair😂 I’m actually surprised I haven’t lost any fibers yet since I use it daily in my live streams. I use silicone lubricant but very rarely because it seems to weigh down the fibers to where they don’t look like they’re separating like they should while I’m dancing. I am looking to find another whip that will flow with ease but is sturdy enough for my roughness with the whip. I looked at the AMKI on Amazon since I want a whip that won’t lose a ton of fibers since you recommend that one out of all of the brands you mentioned but I’m afraid to purchase it due to the reviews. There’s only 5 reviews out of 29 ratings and most of them seem to be negative about it breaking or malfunctioning. So I’m feeling a bit discouraged. Sorry for the long comment, I just have been struggling with trying to find the right whip for me that doesn’t tangle as much, doesn’t lose fibers(because who really wants to replace their fibers often?😂), but is good quality with a nice smooth flow. I just want to hear your thoughts on what I should do❤️
@AishawithanEye2 жыл бұрын
I liked your comment so I’m surprised I also didn’t comment since I usually comment on long comments. O_o I allude me. My answer is that they don’t make a whip that can handle “hard whipping” and I still attest that the AMKI side by side lost the fewest with my softer (sounding than yours) whipping. But, like I mention in this video, it doesn’t have the tapered inner edges so I don’t know if they will all break suddenly with more use. Part of why it’s stronger is because there are more fibers and they’re thicker. I don’t know how you’re whipping, but keep in mind that these strands are plastic and they will ultimately break if you’re hitting the floor or yanking or them or whatever it is that you’re doing. Plastic doesn’t grow back and it doesn’t decompose. You wouldn’t want to use a metal fork on a nonstick pan the same way you don’t want to use force on the strands of a lightwhip. In short: you’re doing it wrong. It’s going to cost you more doing it wrong, but it’s a free country. I just can’t imagine it looking that good the way you describe what you’re doing with it. I also wince when people comb their hair rough, even if they don’t care how it looks or feels. The appeal to others with your artistic expression is all about taste and you’ll attract what you express. Maybe you’re in the mood for destruction, but that’s the kind of numbness you’ll end up attracting if your explore that darkness.

Your fiberflies demo has a rainbow effect. Can the other two do that? Also, I want to start this as a hobby, but might need to go easy as I have a chronic illness and can have pain in my hands. Do you have any tips that could help save my hands some trouble like practicing with a special kind of handle that is really light? Or practicing everything really slow until it’s muscle memory and then adding speed? Or maybe practicing in 10min bursts each day vs long sessions? I’d appreciate any advice you have. I’ve had to ditch piano and guitar as hobbies because of the pain and would really be sad if I’d have to miss out on this one too. I want the amki for longevity/price, but would the fiberflies make a major difference for ease of practice and least amount of pain? I just hate the idea of it breaking so much at the highest price point when I’m a newbie.

I've had an awful experience with GloFx's space whip. Compared to the pixel whip, the fibers seemed to break more easily, and I actually appreciate the grip on the pixel. I'd lose hold of the space whip easily and had to wear a glove with it. Also, my first space whip broke not long after I started using it. I had a new handle sent through their warranty, after jumping through numerous hoops and paying a fee, and that one broke the first night I took it out. It would only display blue and green colors and nothing else, and would power down randomly/refuse to power back on like the first one did. Didn't bother paying for another warranty replacement. I'm excited to try out the Amki whip though, I ordered one by the end of the video.

Your video was super helpful☺️☺️🙏 ! Just received my first fiberflie! I do have a question, it’s not as long as I imagined it would be , I heard straightening out the fibers helps ? Any advice
@AishawithanEye2 жыл бұрын
Like... With a hair straightener? I wouldn't try that, but you could use boiling water to straighten the fibers. Since they're made of the same material as wigs are (the type of plastic is called "acrylic" - PMMA), I've seen tutorials about how to do that by dipping the plastic in a big pot of boiling water. I was thinking of trying this to straighten kinks out in the fibers, but not for straightening them out of the bag. I'm not sure how safe OR effective dipping ALL your fibers in a pot of boiling water would be, so I don't recommend it. If you need a longer whip, Ants on a Melon, which is the "bit whip" I keep accidently mentioning, had a super long whip, but they're right now in the middle of making a new one (hence why they're not included here). Your other option is that there are tutorials to making your own whip: blog.adafruit.com/2017/09/25/new-tutorial-make-a-fiber-optic-led-whip/ I hope this helps! Why is it that you'd want a longer whip and who told you to try straightening the fibers?

I have... you commenting this is my sign that I need to make the review video for their latest whip. The reason I've been putting it off is because... I've been sorely disappointed. It's really hard to figure out how to use it (the color modes--and it's got 3 buttons), and it's a pretty heavy whip. I really love the grassroots nature of the company though and how communicative they were during their kickstarter and the delayed (pandemic reasons) time it took to get their latest product to market, so I want to sit down with it and really figure it out before I do a video review.

But my question is if you don't get the flow grease do u use any other type of lube?
@AishawithanEye2 жыл бұрын
Nope! I have a video half-edited where I go through testing side-by-side with different lubes, flow grease, and just a clean whip and the clean whip performs the best and looks the best. I should finish editing it. I just lost steam because it's really not the most interesting part about whipping, but it is one of the topics that comes up the most. People who are frustrated they're not having a smooth flow think they need another tool (lube) to make it smooth for them, but the truth is that the whip will catch whether it's lubed or not and you need to learn how to work with it. Often times people don't want to do things like wear a synthetic catsuit without jewelry and tie up their hair, which are things you can actually do to avoid getting stuck as much. Even more often, people are just WAY too rough with their whips and don't understand that using more force doesn't actually make the whip look smoother, but makes you look exhausting to watch and destroys your whip.
