I've had a Stomp for a while now and I love it. I use it live, but I send patch changes to it from Ableton via MIDI, so I don't need the extra switches. But I think the XL is a great addition to the line 6, um... line.

Line 6 has really reached a new level these past few years. I'm not picking on the old tech but the difference between the old pod and a Helix...

I only used an HX stomp in conjunction with my HX effects for a short period of time, and I loved it! the sound was amazing, and this looks like the perfect in-between that was needed. might consider upgrading, thanks Mitch!

Don’t forget hx effects. It still fits somewhere in between these 2 models when you consider the price difference between the xl and the stomp.

I have the HX Effects for my tube rig... love it! I'm wanting one of the Helix models to set up a home studio I think the big one is probably overkill as it will mainly be sitting on the desk hooked to monitors.

I had the original Line 6 POD rackmount and I loved it. This looks like a winner to me. Only thing I would change is make the screen bigger because my eyes are not what they used to be.
@TC-ow5rt2 жыл бұрын
I went with the XL. If I already had an HX Stomp, I wouldn't have bothered to upgrade. I prefer the input/output jack placement on the XL. The extra buttons also mean I don't have to keep the MIDI controller around for most of the things I want to do.

Line6 is 100% owned by Yamaha, so it might be a requirement by Line6/Yamaha to do official demos of their products with a Yamaha guitar (I could be wrong of course).

Great video! I wonder if the standard hx stomp with an external midi controller can do the same things as hx xl or are there some features that only hx xl can do?
@sweetwater3 жыл бұрын
Aside from the few differences I mentioned in the video (one more scene per preset, a couple more presets in the XL, etc.), the two pedals are functionally nearly identical. For example, you can control the looper in the XL from the built-in switches. You’d needa MIDI controller to do that with the Stomp. Thanks for watching, hope this helps. Mitch

Для меня лучше ToneX. В виде плагина или в виде педали, неважно :) И абсолютно наплевать, что он работает на импульсах, а Стомп - моделирует звук. Ведь главное, что звучит лучше.

Line 6 are really milking helix. They need to get something on par with quad cortex
@shul56843 жыл бұрын
How is the cortex better than the helix?
@alienlovesecrets93793 жыл бұрын
@@shul5684 Better is the wrong word. It has more advanced features formactorwise and the ability to capture physical rigs. That it something only Kemper could do in that way. QC is only the "next generation Helix" with more features, so not really "better". Good sound is good sound.
@superblondeDotOrg3 жыл бұрын
if you want advanced, plug your guitar into a mac mini and use vst plugins.
@shul56843 жыл бұрын
@@alienlovesecrets9379 I agree there is no such thing as "better" thats why I asked this guy the question. It sounds like he believes the QC is better when in reality amp modelling is pretty much at it's peak. I really don't think it can get better since "better" is really physical gear. More features is a different matter and I believe the helix has more than enough features in a digital pedal. Qc just added more space for that. That doesn't make the helix any less of a product.
@AudacityWorks3 жыл бұрын
