I am SEETHING at the discovery that choco mountain ranks at #8. This song has a whimsy unlike any other and in this video essay I will touch upon how every single aspect about it builds on this and how the chords are more satisfying than anything else in this game (aside from maybe rainbow road). I truly and utterly believe it is impossible to be unhappy while listening to this song, which is a luxury I don't think I can echo for any other AND KALIMARI RIGHT AFTER IT?? I am about to throw hands with your entire audience, I swear to god. Where are the supposed Train-heads when it ACTUALLY MATTERS??

Meh, I only *HALF* agree with this. While *A* person like me mostly prefers songs on the whimsy side, I'd rather *PRESS* the start button on a song like Kalimari Desert or Koopa Troopa Beach. Besides, on a course like Choco Mountain, you have to *watch for rolling rocks* while you're on the road, and you also have to *build up speed* for a while just to get past them! How dangerous!

i don't know why but the kalimari desert footage is killing me. just seeing wario, yoshi, and mario slowly and peacefully come to a stop as the train goes by... then toad flies in outta nowhere and slams into one of mario's green shells... then wario and yoshi just decide to run into the train for some ungodly reason

I actually like it. I like the way SNES Ghost Valley, N64 Banshee Boardwalk and GBA Boo Lake/Broken Pier all share the same motifs albeit being completely different music themes. It reminds me of the SMK Main Theme motif appearing throughout all the MK games.
