I respect Super Circuit’s vision of providing SNES-style gameplay to the GBA/GCN generation of players. At the time it was a great way of helping to preserve the SMK courses, and I wish 64 and Double Dash got the same treatment on the DS and 3DS respectively.

I feel most of these songs are held back by the soundfont. I don't think it's a coincidence that remixes of these songs sound incredible but the originals just don't hold up for me with a few exceptions, I just really don't like the GBA soundfont tbh.

it might be because i’m a sucker for the electric pianos but the snes versions, i like them. big tree not being in the final is a tragedy and the mother 3 sax and pokémon/mother 3 horn always save the day. the only reason snes r isn’t bad

i think it's kinda interesting how the snes tracks shuffled around a little bc the compression of the gba makes some of the tracks sound literally so bad (rainbow road 😭), EXCEPT for choco island. like that is just staying put at where it was before as a comfortably mediocre track

It's not the compression. They just made them sound bad by choosing unfitting instruments and putting wrong notes.

i know this game is objectively worse than most games in the series but i have such a soft spot for this game. Despite growing up with ds and wii i probably have the most nostalgia for super circuit playing it on the family computer for hours.
