Those slots aren’t really for the saw dust. They’re mostly for prying the cut material out from the saw.

I'm thinking of buying a> {2-1/8 in. Big Hawg Carbide Hole Saw} at HD. Can you tell me if it fits that white hole saws arbor? I dont want to buy another arbor........ I have a brand new {Milwaukee 2 in. Hole Dozer Bi-Metal Hole Saw} I just tried to drill a hole through a 2x8 + a layer of 1" boards, my plan was to drill through both sides but I had all I can do to just go 1/2 inch deep and that took me 10 minutes and I have 6 holes to drill!! IMO those white ones are no good for wood.......

is there a difference between Milwaukee Carbide Teeth -VS- Milwaukee BiMetal Teeth
@adamyaw
@adamyaw 2 жыл бұрын
Big difference yes…… the bimetal blades and holesaws are usually high speed steel cutting edge (sometimes small amounts of cobalt added to make them harder to dull) and that cutting edge is put onto a carbon steel body…… high speed steel is harder than like a carbon steel nail so it holds up longer when cutting Carbide tips can drill concrete and also stainless steel for MUCH longer because it’s very tough. But it’s also not the same quality hole vs the bimetal……. But you get a lot more use out of a carbide holesaw before it’s time to replace. Both with make it through nails etc but after a few oopsies with a bimetal it’s junk. Carbide also doesn’t clog up even close to as fast because it’s only 3-4 teeth so it tosses chips vs getting them all packed in the teeth. Hope that helped! I have both but although it’s more expensive to get the carbide they last much longer IMO
