Just some of my personal experience. 1.V10F hard mode is like Gotway /kingsong soft mode 2. Be carefull on sherman in soft mode pedal dip in big turns can make you fall or put leg on ground. (medium/hard not sufer this) 3. kingsong hard mode (ks16X) is close to gotway medium. 4. Gotway/begode/veterean hard mode i presonaly have feel like "wood on water " i make pendulum or ride trail is not my preference i dont like that personlay i am "medium /kingsong hard" guy. 5. Well say fully agree Hard mode is safest in prevent overlean. 6. Please not ruin you calibration like Adam show in video. Use water-lever/spirit(this device with buble :-) and result can be hudge. Do calibration in stand or 2 brick and make EUC horisontaly and verticaly level. Gyroscope is sensitive high end device and need "true level" is my religion ! ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/maOci2yojM-ijJY ) 7. From pools what i make on forum medium mode is most riders choice exactly how Adam says. 8. Leg pain chart is Hard(pain soon) medium soft. 8. Modes behavior can change in firmware revisions strongly. Example kingsong FW 1.5 VS FW 1.7 big diffrence in aceleration distribution. 9. Behavior can be diferent on EUC revision good example sherman "vanila" and "Actual" V3 10. Not mentioned in video diferent tire pressure have hudge inpact how pedal modes is "feeled" (example high PSI/BAR and hard mode can be dangerous combination sometime) 11. Dont be scary and try change mode sometime benefits can be safety and way to enjoy you EUC more.

I wish he mentioned breaking in the video. On msx I kinda like medium because of the accelerations BUT I don't run this mode because the braking is the slowest of the 3 modes. Soft feels the safest because it kind of feels like I am assisted in braking

@SwitchUpYt 3 жыл бұрын
I’ve just shifted from HARD to SOFT and the ride itself is so much smoother and more comfortable. Over bumps it’s better, acceleration is actually easier as the chassis tilts a little forward making it easier to apply front pressure and the same applies for breaking. Overall, night and day improvement for me.

I just learned this and maybe everyone knows this all ready but when calibrating a gotway you are not only calibrating the pedal angle forwards and backwards, you are also calibrating vertically your left and right 45 degree cutout. So if you are not vertical and have the wheel leaned left or right when calibrating, your wheel may cutout when leaning the wheel to the left or right earlier on one side and later on the other. Also for me technical rides over roots and rocks or climbing soft mode all the way. Gives you some shock absorption and helps leaning forward when doing long climbs up a mountain and helps leaning back for braking when decending down long mountain trails. Hard mode on flat smooth trails and asphalt. ;-)

Need to keep in mind that Hard mode transfers more force, and vibration in to your legs, and knees. If you feel discomfort in long rides consider softening it a bit up. Mostly used on my Inmotion V11 😎: On a V11 i use Commuting mode (Smoother less aggressive acceleration. Better battery life, and prevents me from getting my self in to trouble with abrupt accelerations in traffic, and areas with a lot of pedestrians.) Additionally i reduce the stiffens of the pedals to 80% to reduce the stress on my legs. I suggest running the Inmotion motor calibration in the app. It does wonders for ride smoothness, makes the acceleration more responsive, reduces the stress on the motor, and is a good safety feature. Downside of the calibration is that it stiffens the pedals up, and that's why i reduce the pedal sensitivity to 80%. Offroad, when i feel like jumping, speeding with abrupt turning, and energetic music. Switching the V11 to Offroad. Pedal stiffness to 100%. (If you calibrated the motor no need to repeat that step). So much fuuuuun! 🤩 Downside: Drains battery, and my legs. 😑

I suspect the industry wide naming convention for the modes has been why many folks including myself have been confused about the modes. I think it should have been something like: (Soft) relaxed/casual (Medium) normal/everyday/midway (I'm having a hard time finding a good name for this one which means that "medium" may be the best choice) (Hard) aggressive/performance/instant Add "Response" to the mode descriptor and then I think it largely clears up the confusion. Anyway, just my two cents. Nicely done video.

you say that the soft mode is less responsive, i partially disagree. Breaking with softer pedals breaks a lot faster and abruptly than hard pedals, as it allows you to shift your weight backwards in a very efficient way and put your weight on your heels more comfortably. The only moment when soft pedals become uncomfortable is when you go uphill. Hard pedals might be more responsive (apart from breaking) but the lack of comfort is massive...making it a deal breaker for me. I usually leave it at around 50-60% (inmotion)

I love carving in soft mode all day. I do worry about a cut out, never happened yet. But I ride really hard on the Sharman. Just play it a little safe after I go lower than 50% witch don't take much out in Sacramento.. we have alot of distance from city to city

There certainly are some real positives on soft mode especially on Begode wheels. Soft mode allows a leverage play between each foot which allows a beautiful swing into acceleration. Some of our best riders in nyc prefer soft, particularly on the msp, msx line. I’m riding med only on the ex.n. Thanks Adam

I find two other important things. The “stiffer” the mode the more sensitive it is. But this comes with som expense on energy. If you want range going slower and in softer mode is reasonable. Also on softer modes there is less torque peak meaning it is generally safer for more slippery conditions

I ride a Tesla, and I really only cruise around. I always ride in soft, except for the days when I wonder why I'm not riding in medium or hard. Every time I switch it to hard for the day, my feet get a little tired. Soft is like a poor man's suspension. I remember the first time I road a Sherman. It was set to soft, and I sure felt like the Sherman's soft was harder than the Tesla's hard. Everyone should take a long ride on each firmness setting. You might find out you like one better than the rest!

Soft mode is coolest mode for a recreational riding, not tiring , easy going, relaxing, great feeling, easy braking and accelerating. Hard mode for people who like to apply pressure and strength , there is no room for error because the wheel react immediately, braking makes problem even on weaker wheels like Nikola_+ Hard mode in Commander for example is useless for serious riding on the street because braking is so difficult , as a result riding become dangerous

Great video broaching a topic that has a lot of nuance. I've been riding hard mode on my Tesla2 just to get as much performance out of it, but as I look to getting a Nikola, it sounds like medium or even soft mode may help with what I heard helps the wobbles that come with that wheel. As a heavier rider, it was helpful to know that soft or medium modes may make it easier to overpower the motor, so lots to consider as I move on that wheel. Thanks for giving some guidance!

On Kingsong 16x the soft mode also changes the orientation of the pedals based on going up or down a hill. As a beginner I thought soft would be good to learn on. I am still recovering from first fall based partly on that change when going over the crest of a hill. Better for beginners to stick with hard mode, and have one less thing changing. Hey I ride my wheel literally everywhere I never drive unless I’m with my gf. I’ve gone over 10k miles now n I feel like I live in the perfect city(las Vegas) for eucs. For the past 18months I’ve got almost 9k miles on my nik+ n I cruise at 35-40mph. Now that I got the mpro I cruise at 40-50mph. The streets of Vegas looks like a giant chess board. Every mile there’s a major street going north/south or east/west and these roads have huge bus/bike lanes so it’s easy to go top speed everywhere. Also I recommend using an AirPod and setting the app to beep just under the recommended or preferred top speed my mpro I set at 47mph otherwise u won’t hear the beeps from the wheel and if u go faster then the wheels top speed it will cut out on u and going down at high speeds is no joke. And to answer ur actual question. YES I FEEL VERY SAFE RIDING AT TOP SPEEDS but u have to practice n get comfortable doing it. Stay safe and dress for slide not the ride
