As a heavily bullied child & teenager who was constantly ridiculed and excluded throughout my entire early years in life Frankie means the world to me. She’s one of the most accepting and open minded fictional characters ive ever seen in kids media. I love how determined she is & how emotionally affected she gets whenever she sees that someone gets treated like garbage, bullied or excluded. She’s not perfect and very insecure in the beginning but she can admit to her wrong doings & passionately fights for justice and people who are less privileged. She gets a lot of hate within the community & it always personally hurts me quite a bit because even tho this is just a fictional world and not that of a ‘big deal’ i’m just extremely disappointed/confused why so many people express hate for a character that represents a person who is emotionally affected by the exclusion and mistreatment of especially the weaker ones - who she fights passionately for. That character actually inspired me to strive for a career where I can help young bullied & abused survivors. She showed me that it’s worth it to stand up for others and to try as hard as possible to make everyone feel included & loved. 💙

It's really just a crime of writing. Her character is SO good and SO fleshed out but suffers from being written as THE nice character, as THE speech character. Writers used her as a device to TELL the message instead of letting people just see the message. I've always liked her anyways despite getting into mh as an adult becuz she's still funny too

I understand more toward Gil when I grow up. I didn’t watch every single thing about Gil. So I’ll focus on 13 wishes. I’ve saw people said that Gil didn’t argue to his parents about lagoona, just ignore the fact that his parents hate Lagoona. I think that’s nothing to do with him. My parents sometimes is really stuck in old mindset and no matter how many time I explained to them, they don’t care and understand. And I will not explain to them everyday about the problem because I’ll get tired. Not because I ignore the problem. Lagoona didn’t change her type for Gil. She changed for his parents. Gil never said Lagoona need to be a fresh water monster to make his parents love her. So should Gil told Lagoona that he had to breakup with her because his parents hate her?

I think if I disliked any character it was probably Draculaura, but only because her super fake accent bugged me more than the others for some reason 😓

I thought I was the only one who I was chill with Gil lol, I just feel like he was a victim of a ton of cliche high school boyfriend tropes that was put into the media (ofc this was put into a lot of the boys but Gil was an easy target lol) also your right about the characters not getting characterized well I always wondered why when I watched the movies I would automatically forget everything afterwards 😂 also Hoodude for life!!!

I love movie villains. I think all the Disney villains were the best characters. Of course that doesn't mean I approve of their actions. We shouldn't have to explain that. It's entertainment. Anyway another great video!

I discovered the dolls first and bonded with them based on their looks. I only started watching the episodes and movies months later and got introduced to the actual characters. Clawdeen is a WARRIOR PRINCESS. I love her. 🥰 Her creativity and sass is perfectly captured by what my mind saw. Like reading a novel and envisioning how the characters are in your mind's eye.... versus later, when you see the director's vision, that happy feeling you get when they jibe, versus the disappointment you feel when the movie character is nothing like you imagined. Ghostly Spectra and her magnificent cheekbones got me hooked on the dolls, but when I saw her character, I was disappointed.

I respect your thoughts on the characters and agree on some of them. However, there are many I feel differently about. Of course Draculaura is my favorite & I think she has a genuinely pure heart. I see her differently than you do in “Why do Ghouls Fall in Love”. Some of the characters I feel were not judged totally with full knowledge if you haven’t completely watched a movie. I understand you had a hard time with some movies, and that’s fine. My least favorite one is Torelai. Her dolls from g1 are really beautiful, but her character is a total b…. To me she completely loved hurting people, especially Draculaura. She enjoyed it when anyone got hurt or had a hard time. She even would cheer for other schools/teams if it suited her interests. There are others but I’m too tired to go into more right now. It was interesting hearing your thoughts and I hope I worded my response in a kind manner. I think they had a whole backstory on Toralei being that way because she came from abuse and neglect. Then they kind of nixed the whole character and created something privileged and snobby which bummed out a bunch of us survivors.

Even though Frankie and Holt/Jackson hurts as a mega stan lol, I’m so happy to see someone give Gill the benefit of doubt! I feel like the fandom forgets that he’s an insecure 15 year old split between the desire to please his parents and follow his heart. Gill is shown to be capable of redemption. He’s such a sympathetic character for me tbh.

I feel like clawdeen, Frankie, lagoona, or drauclaura are the people I would hang out with. I love how fierce and protective clawdeen is. Frankie gives good advice. Draculaura is a honey and would give me the best makeover or hug ever. Lagoona, I feel like would calm me down and we would do a yoga session. I could hangout with any of the main cast, if I was honest. For people I couldn't stand irl, I would say nefera and toralei. I won't deny that they ain't cool and attractive, but they are just the types of monsters who would abandon the second they found someone better.

Basing these across both movies and webisodes fav characters by personality: Fav ghouls: Cleo, ghoulia, abbey, Lagoona, Rochelle, Sirena, Honey, Twyla Fav mansters: Hoodude, Neightan (you definitely got him pegged wrong lol), Deuce, Garrot Least fav ghouls: Venus (like SUPER one note, not even a fun scene or line ever), Nefera (she's just the worst), Cupid (idk there was just nothing to connect to), Howleen (I never connected with her and always found her drives and actions problematic, but revisiting the movies and hearing your critiques...yeah ur right, shes worse than i remembered. What's worse is after she "learns" they never show her again. So we didn't even get to meet the nicer wiser Howleen) Least fav mansters: heath, Manny, holt, HOLT

Am I the only one who likes InvisiBilly? Well... now I think of it, it's the doll I like, emo, skater dude, not the graffiti artist they made him into. He vibed laid back surfer dude and they made him high energy. My InvisiBilly would totally fall for Twyla and she for him. 🥰 AND they'd form an alt rock band and headline at Monster fest. 😄

I love G1 Lagoona but are not bothered about her G3 version. I always liked G1 Draculaura and G1 Frankie. I find G3 Frankie amusing mainly of a clip of the movie where Frankie says 'I'm blending in,' or something like that. But I will go back to the G1 versions, such as Ghoulia and Rochelle.

I rlly miss when cleo was a lil bitchy while nefera straight out evil-their so boring n generic in g3 now that their just nice girls, cleo just feels like a love interest who likes tik tok while nefera..just exists (sometimes) I get not everyone likes mean girls but i think them being flawed(w nefera being a villain) helped making them rlly memorable
