Depends on your budget ,if your like me easily satisfied, i just need a bed ,shower ,small fridge ,cooker , tv to play my games on 😂 but i like u shape lounges ✌️

I prefer the older one as it has a separate shower, so I am with Kev. I have a 2003 Autotrail Cheyenne, done 54,000 miles and is in really good order throughout. Just love her.

Love the older vans layout interior is dated but totally livable more so then the newer van and like the man said if you got 50 k to spend use 20 and get a apartment in Spain with the rest.

Third time watching , trying to catch the heating system for winter ...am I missing it or does the old camper not have heating? I'm older and prefer older to newer. The storage is excellent as is the quality... Just what I'd need.

Microwave/ breadbin you can put a little air fryer in the older van instead. Love the compressor fridge and the little bin hidden in the worktop

I have a 22 year old bessacarr E435 I've had it 3 years and I love it, I do prefer the u shape lounge though, but mine is comfortable and in really good condition, I love it 🤗☺️

iv bought newer as its less worry over the engine and suspension. but it all depends on your budget and if you want to live full time or just holidays , if I was buying just for holidays I would of bought older one

I go old but due to my needs would have to upgrade for off griding for 3 to 5 days at a time but i think it would be a easy enough job to do, then that would be my perfect home x

When do you start to see issues with rust, motor reliability, appliance issues, damp, parts availability? (All depends on how it was used, of course, but generally - how old is old?)

The older van no computers or dpf they just keep going i would use the money saved for touring I also think that people who change new vans regularly with very little mileage is just a status symbol Weather new or 23 years old they still do the same thing

Kev is head and shoulders above Jason (for once). The old van is a massively better living space but my main concern would be possible water ingres & damp. A third alternative would be to spend the £50,000 on a newer version of the Kevmobile.

I’m surprised you’ve still got that older van as it got a lot to offer for the price. Parts will still be available for years to come as it’s based on a fleet vehicle that are still in everyday use. The newer van is nice but won’t be when it gets to the same age . It will suffer from dpf issues and injectors it will have assorts of problems especially if there’s lack of maintenance . The newer van won’t stick full time living and things will deteriorate quicker with full time living.

I'd like to see Kevs van on a ramp...I'll bet the underside tells a different story. Seen a few on my mates ramp with stunning bodywork but the chasis is as rotten as apear with corrosion everywhere.

Interesting challenge chaps! How long is each van? How about a similar challenge based upon a certain van length ie the length of a typical drive at home. Our drove is 6m which is going to limit our options!

I think that a 6m van is the perfect length. Big enough to have a fair bit of space inside but small enough to go into cities. Ferry prices tend to shoot up once you get above 6m.
