About the grass catchers, I agree it does pull the front down changing the HOC and could scalp but thinking about the GM design, they mow golf greens and they mow them every day. So you are not taking off that much each mow so you only have to dump once after each green.

Great info! Currently own a John Deere SL180 18” gm w/11blade. Cuts great but doesn’t do well on the front slope. Heard ReelRollers is coming out with an 18” or 20” version so looking forward to that. But the one thing that got me on this video was that : Ron hates money! 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for the content Ron!

I have a TruCut 27" and one of the biggest things I hate (aside from back-lapping) is the uneven cut. The left side always cuts lower than the right. I've check every setting and measurement and they're all within a 1/32". The only thing I can chalk it up to is uneven weight distribution. If I weight the far right side with about 8 pounds of lead weights, I can get a decently even cut. So my question is, how evenly does the Revolution 26 cut whether it's flat or on a slight slope. I don't have any slopes greater than your front yard. Thanks for the input!

Mine has cut well. Definitely better than my TruCut

Ron, Thanks so much for the videos. I took the jump for the revolution 26 thanks to your guidance and am loving it sp far. Question: one side of the bed to reel becomes loose (not cutting paper)after i cut about 5k square feet of grass. Is this normal? The tru cut i had stayed set for several cuts

I will be getting a Revolution26 here sometime in the near future. I would like to get the Allett Stirling but that is just way too pricey for me.

Hey Ron, great vid. Next time also do a section on reel to bedknife adjustment. That's a huge part of using a reel mower and as you know with some mowers it's a pain point
@RioTheHitman5 ай бұрын
Ron I noticed your Revolution does the same thing as mine whereas the reel spins sometimes even when the reel is in the off position. If you find a solution to this please make a post about it. @8:18 . I havent bothered contacting Reel Rollers about it but maybe I should.

It looks like we are slowly but surely starting to see videos online on the new Cal Trimmer Catalyst but I have yet to see a video on how this new unit is back lapped. Does anyone know if they changed the way you back lap the unit? With RR so close its going to be hard for me to consider any other reel mower,

@RonHenry I just ordered it 2 days ago, and I'm excited for my bimini bermuda to get a nice cut. My california trimmer was old and not sharp at all. Do u recommend back lapping when I first get it, or will it be sharpened before I get it

I detached and aerate my yard this weekend and top dressed half of it with soil3 hummus compost. I ran out of material and ordered another bag but it will be delivered a week later, Is it ok to top dress the remaining yard a week later?

@RonHenry Hey Ron! I have tall fescue currently, but I live where summers are high 90's-100's (I live in 9b zone in California). I want to make the change due to the higher maintenace of the fescue to keep the lawn alive in the summer heat. I looking for a bermuda that is dark green in color and tough. Any bermuda types that you can recommend? Also is seeding vs using sprigs (if available in my area). Iron cutter or monaco, but I don’t know what’s easier to establish sprigs or seed. Thanks Ron.

Tahoma 31 is a great choice. Available via sprigs or sod.

As much as I like the Allett it is egregiously overpriced. Even the cartridges are overpriced pieces, they are essentially just pieces of metal screwed together at the end of the day no electronics but charging 3000 is crazy.
