This review tells us nothing about which is really better at pumping. You should have attached each pump to a fully deflated tire, and pumped them up counting the strokes and noting the effort when you get to the upper end of the pressure you normally use. In addition, those pumps were not intended for MTB's, they can do it, but they're weren't designed for high volume, but rather high pressure; the mountain bike pumps for the Topeak are called TT and another one called DA this is a series of pumps you have to online to look at the MTB specific ones; the Lezyne is the Alloy Drive, but they have a lot more than just that one MTB pump.

I focused on the functionality of each one, I had thought about pumping up a tube but it’s pretty hard to tell precisely which reaches say 25 psi first with no gauge or anything. Pumping up tyres on the trail is an inconvenience either way and I pack the lightest and easiest one to use. I’ve had to use both in the past and both sufficiently pump the tyres in an ok time. Thankfully tubeless set up means that the faff of having to pump up tyres is few and far between. Thanks for commenting 👍🏼

@@TimFromWales yeah I try to avoid flats but you know how that is. I'm not going to embrace tubeless, I'm 67 years old and all my bikes are set up with tubes, and I don't see the need to spend the money, I'm very well versed in how to patch a tube and I can do it on the road about as fast as I can put in new tube...assuming I can find the leak fast of course. Even with tubeless they still recommend you carry a spare tube. I hope someday that they will make a tire that doesn't require air at all, I think it was Michelin that had such a concept some years ago, but it never materialized; it wasn't a solid rubber tire either, but was suspended by what looked like a bunch of miniature suspension bridges which made it lightweight, but not sure how you could adjust the feel of the tire, maybe that was the issue?

Why did you go for Pressure Drive and not Alloy Drive? a common thing I see is that you should go for High volume pump for MTB and High Pressure for Road. Pressure Drive is high pressure pump. I haven't tried both but I have the Alloy Drive. but at home I have Fumpa electric pump, which means I don't have to use a track pump. it has a indicator. Mine was faulty, so I have a replacement waiting for me, Fumpa seems to do support properly, I sent a mail to them and sent copy of mail to shop I bought it from, now I have a new pump waiting for me. There is Fumpa Mini which is smaller and doesn't have an indicator, but you could buy two Fumpa pumps one for shop to have in backpack, this would eliminate the need for Co2 cartridges. But The alloy drive I can pump up a flat tyre, but it can't bee used to pump it up to 60 psi to pop bead, that would be too much work.

I bought it cos it was a good price and a good size. I’m not sure anyone does a pump that will only do the 30psi absolute max I need for MTB. 😂

nice I used the race rocket myself only downside.. more pumping

Yup with less travel you probably have 1.5x the pumping required - but I try to avoid punctures 😂👊🏼

Hoping to see air flow test, this is where you spend the 98% of your time when you need to use it, not how it connects. Notes about flex hose were relevant.
@TimFromWales

This is fair point, but ease of use and size are the most important factors for me. At the end of the day *both these pumps work* , and how quickly they work will be negligible in my mind. However - I was intending on doing this for the video and maybe will do some sort of follow up. Thanks for commenting - stay posted and I'll do an airflow test.

If it doesn't connect, you will spend infinite time pumping ... first hand experience from yesterday and reason why I am buying new mini pump.

I agree. That Toblerone was way to small. Still, better than nothing.

The vale key tool is great if you have trouble seating the tubeless tyre. Helps get the air in faster with less resistance and as for the toepeak when you screwing it to a presta valve if you have the adapter screwed out the you only have to turn the adapter not the full pump like you say ?

"Which MTB mini pump is the best?" Literally the first words in your title and you didn't even tell us. What a terrible video.

Sometimes you just have to watch the whole video. Or sometimes a KZbinr is undecided and just presents arguments for both products and leaves you to make your mind up. It’s also possible that there’s not really much difference between them. And thanks for watching it 3 years after me making it by the way 😂

May I check if this Topeak Racerock fit into Topeak Dry Medium Saddle bag?

Great video. Can you store tubeless tyre repair plugs in the handle wear the removable core tool cap is?
@TimFromWales

No storage space sorry. I have small separate tubeless kit and a top tip - pre load the tubeless plugs in the widget tool so you don't have to fiddle on the trail??

Thanks for the test as these were the two pumps I was looking at for road use. I finally chose the Lezyne. But how about the feeling in hand? Does your hand slide when pumping on the Lezyne?

What is the benefit of the hose, doesn't put undo abuse on the valve because of the hose flexibility. Have damaged tube valves in the past with pump direct valve mounting.

Both have pros and cons. The Topeak one just edges it for my hip bag cos its smaller. The irony is I'm not sure the last time I used either of them = 6 months I reckon!

YES indeed, as you are a witness, I'm sure; it's one of the few pumps that can get to 100 psi and it's the only one that does it in lessor strokes than any other mini on the market so far. I don't consider the Topeak Road Morph, or similar size pumps, to be a mini, it's closer in size to a half size frame pump.
